He is so warm and tender with her in this scene. ❤ She has come so far in reciprocating that love back and finding him to be her safe place in her asking him to hug her while she is sobbing. She also begins to open up by asking him what to do if she is bullied in the future, but he responds to her "Who dares to hurt you while I am here". She quickly replies what if he's not there and gives him a short demonstration of part of how she was bullied. It is sad he doesn't fully get the clues she's given him that she was bullied and sad she decided not to tell him all, but perhaps part of it was because the Empress's birthday banquet was the next day and afraid of what his reaction could potentially be. She was very protective of the Empress and apparently had part of the next day's event going through her head as the promise he made to her that night was proven to be to play music at the banquet. She knew how he had reacted at Yao wedding when the young ladies accused her of seducing / having an affair with Ling Buyi. I definitely had hoped she would have confided in him. I can't say enough good about the chemistry and acting between these two. It outstanding 👏 👌 🙌 👍 ❤❤❤

I love this scene too. They both play off each other so well that you can feel their love for one another. I want to believe when she ask for help to defend herself that he caught on that once again someone did hurt her. I just don't like when he gets upset with her when defends the fifth princess her way.

Agreed. Why didn’t the direct put a tender kiss there? Overall, this was a well directed scene as we felt the love they had for each other. This scene was then followed up with her wiping his chin the next day which was another intimate moment shared by the young lovers. I loved the innocence in this drama as well. If you haven’t watched Love Like The Galaxy you’re missing out on a great love story. Enjoy💃🏽

Well, if you go back in history you would see that marriage were arranged at a young age even for royalty, it should had been that way it wasn't the right thing to do though, but that's what it was, even my own grand mother was force to marry a 75 year old man when she was just 14 years old, she was not happy but that's what her family in this case her father command her to do, and in places were women didn't have the voice we have now was very hard to go against this commands, also what I love of this drama / book it's that Niao Niao is stubborn and she isn't afraid to make her own decisions, even if that means to go against those who she love. she dares to hate, love, be creative, spontaneous, caring, to learn and live her live with regrets or without it, but for her own sake. I had cried and laughed with her, sometimes she reminds me of my grand mother, who was a great woman, she manage to break up her marriage with that man after being married for 2 years with him, she scape and later she became a teacher. she always told us the best we can do in this live is to learn, be independent, teach other what we have learned and travel so in this way we will open our point of view and we will see the world with different eyes, we will understand the difference between people and if we don't then we will be tolerant, this is what Niao Niao intent to be at the end when the Empress passed away, she decided to stay with Ling Buyi knowing that he will respect her decisions and support her as she will do with him, that was a great drama indeed.
