A good amount of the time stans just go crazy about shipping and making sure that even though the idol is like over 20, that they should still be treated like they are 15. Fans are calmer (sometimes), who listen to their music, and watch interviews here and there. For summary, unrealistic vs in reality.

it did happen to me irl actually 😭 i was close to a friend of mine in eighth grade, but literally EVERYONE in our friend group "shipped" us so much that it caused us to not be as affectionate with each other so they would stop. it really sucked bc they were a friend i had since kindergarten.

Be careful, some stans will rip your eyes out if you even imply that shipping should be left in the past 🙃

shipping was never a good thing. it's really uncomfortable and disrespectful to some idols. but crazy stans never understand this and they will never change. they even ship minors and sexualize them

@Gargi im gonna disagree because plenty of people ship discreetly and use those ships to creatively express themselves. i agree it can go too far and i dont think the idols themselves should really know about the ships because it can make them uncomfortable and overthink their own relationships. but i think most fans who aren't delusional and don't seriously claim or demand idols to be dating otbers don't do much harm, if anything they can enrich the fandom experience. and you can always stay away from things that make you uncomfortable. also i agree, sexualizing minors has not exceptions and is not okay. however romantic relationships don't have to be inherently sexual

I agree. If the shippers keep it to themselves, I see no problem with it. It’s natural to think, especially if they’re really close, “oh they would look cute together!”. Same with, especially young Kpop fans, to find a liking on an idol. To be honest, I don’t like the whole y/n stuff as it can get very obsessive and inappropriate, but if you keep it to yourself and be respectful, then whatever. I’m not gonna stop you. If the group or idol comes out saying they’re uncomfortable, then stop. For example, BTS’ Vkook. Tae has come out saying that he wants it to stop. So respect his wants. With the Y/N stuff, an example can be when a fan was wearing lingerie and making some comments to Stray Kids’ Han, and it was clearly making him uncomfortable. For one, that’s just a huge NO! Not matter how much you like that idol. A lot of groups are fine with being shipped with their own teammates, but not with other groups. Some could care less. Some idols play into fanservice, and some idols not so much. So yeah. I may not be a huge fan of shipping or into the y/n stuff, but if you are, that’s fine. Just keep it respectful and don’t shove it down idols’ throats.

@@igot7elf237 BTS are so powerful bc they are so astronomically successful. Hybe is literally what it is today bc of BTS. Plus, they lucked up and got a CEO that isn't as traditionally strict as other CEOs from other companies.
