Sorry for the 3rd parts highlight being so quiet. Was litteraly the only one that was deemed good to use. Fingers crossed 🤞🤞🤞. Also I wanted to include the boxscore as I felt it may have been worth talking about. Hopefully you enjoyed that last part cause I didn't want it to be like "its just a random score lol." Wanted it to be interesting.

You could have also added Calgary vs Tampa in the 2004 finals where Calgary had a goal disallowed because the puck didn't cross the goal line. I've seen that replay a few times and I wouldn't have counted that goal either. The puck did go completely over the line but the Calgary player kicked it in. It was so obvious to me that I'm surprised the officials missed it. Also obvious: Brett Hull's goal was good. Too bad Buffalo!

@@salianni16 the puck didn't go completely over the line and i wouldn't say the Calgary kicked it, they just stopped so they didn't crash into the goalie (also even if they meant to redirect the puck that SHOULD be allowed but i've seen things like that get disallowed anyways despite the rule being there to stop players from kicking something with their knife-shoes)

Hull had possession of the puck, it never turned over. Hasek blocked it off back to Hull. Hull scored.There was a rule that you can’t be in the crease, but it accounted for more of a player who didn’t have possession to start. What Hull did was completely legal. Sorry Sabres, it was good.

Besides Kane, two other guys saw the puck go in and reacted right away. First was Darrol Powe, #36 on the Flyers. Look where he standing. He had a perfect view of it going in, and watch his reaction. He stops and droops and takes out his mouthgard. He knows the game is over. The other is Patrick Sharp, who has the same angle as Powe, only from further back. He reacts immediately and chases Kane down the ice. He also bumped into Andrew Ladd and probably said something like "It's In!" because Ladd joins in the celebration. Blackhawks #24, Nick Boynton, over on the right side, raises his stick, but I think only because he saw Kane do the same, because he looks confused after and doesn't join in with Kane, Sharp & Ladd right away. I think the most confused guy was poor Mike Emrick. He didn't know what happened.

Looking into the canucks oilers game, they pulled the goalie with 2:06 left in OT because they absolutely needed a win in order to stay in the playoff hunt. A single point for a tie or otl would be useless for them. Not sure why this was hard for you to find out, since i found it with a simple google search and a link to some articles from the day after.

I think the hull goal counts cuz the NHL made a amendment to the rule quietly before the playoff saying that if the player possessed the puck in the crease then the goal counts hulk had possession clearly and its a good goal by the best pure goalscorer of his area. I mean I know maybe Mario and wayne were better but hull was insane.

@samuelreese6357
@samuelreese6357 2 жыл бұрын
After Hull shot the puck, or attempted to shoot the puck the first time, it came outside the crease. His skate was in the crease when he shot it into the net. I disagree with the NHL's assessment that he had possession. When you shoot the puck and there's a rebound, that's not possession. I didn't see anything in the crease rule about possession anyway. So, I think the goal should have been reviewed and disallowed. ... "If a player has entered the crease prior to the puck, and subsequently the puck should enter the net while such conditions prevail, the apparent goal shall not be allowed"
@raran44
@raran44 2 жыл бұрын
You're almost there! There was a rule change part way through the 99 season that said it the attacking player maintains possession, its a good goal. They also detailed that a live puck or rebound off the goalie is still considered the attacking player's possession. Hull collected his own rebound, kick passed it to himself and scored. It sucks for Buffalo fans but it was a good goal.

Honestly, I think it’s more of an organization problem than a player problem. For me, it’s a bit harder to blame the players. If they did know, it would be hard to speak up, given you’d be put on the organization’s bad side and you DO NOT wanna be traded elsewhere when you got a good thing going in Chicago (but yes, speaking up would be the right thing to do) I will still relish the players that brought that cup to Chicago but f the higher ups. Including Brad Aldrich, Stan Bowman, even Coach Q. That should never be tolerated in any setting.

I'm a Hawks fan, I heard the puck hit the back of the net, I knew immediately the puck went in and it was a good goal - I wasn't confused at all - you can hear the "thump" it makes when it hits the net, so when I heard the "thump" I knew the Hawks just won the Cup - as for the moment itself and the puck? Yea, as a lifetime Hawks fan - I mean I was 31 at the time - I never imagined when the Hawks finally did win a Cup it would be like "that", lol - with all of the confusion, lol.. I mean like I said, I was absolutely certain Kane scored - there was zero doubt in my mind but the whole "instant replay" to confirm it - I guess - took a little of the excitement out of it.... As for the puck itself - no one knows where the game puck went or who has it - many believe Chris Pronger took it, just like he allegedly took all of the other game pucks from that series, presumably in an attempt to get under the Hawks skin? lol...... Either way, that was an exhilarating moment as a life-long diehard Hawks fan of 26 years at the time, but little did I know at that moment I would see the Hawks lift the Cup 2 more times.... I will admit tho, it was clear to me early on in the 2010 season that the Hawks were going to win the Cup, so I wasn't "shocked" but "how" they won it was pretty "unusual/bizarre"... Also, keep in mind the way the Hawks won Game 6 of the 2013 SCF was pretty bizarre too. I mean late in the 3rd period Boston scored to take the lead 2-1 with less than 5 minutes left, then Bickell via Toews scores to tie it up, then 17 seconds later Dave Bolland scores the eventual game winning goal to take the lead.... I mean in a matter of just a couple of minutes it went from looking like the Hawks were going to lose Game 6 and have to play a Game 7 "winner takes all" to "alright, I guess we're going to overtime" to "Stanley Cup Champion", lol - and it really was just a matter of minutes. From biting nails to Stanley Cup Champs, lol... I mean out of the 3 Cups the Hawks won, the only "normal" Cup clinching game for the Hawks that didn't end with dramatics was Game 6 vs Tampa Bay in 2015 in which the Hawks held the lead all game, Crawford got the shutout and the Hawks - without drama - clinched the Cup... Also, I actually have Andrew Shaw's 2013 Game One OT game puck (the actual game puck) in my hockey memorabilia collection, it's autographed too, he even inscribed it "3OT" - obviously because the goal was scored in the 3rd OT..... IDK, just thought I would brag about having the puck, I mean it is a game used game winning goal OT puck and I am a Hawks fan so I find the puck super neat, knowing that it is indeed a piece of history.

The canucks one was insane. It was 2011 think you could have found better quality. Niemi like everyone on both teams had no idea but he hears a slap shot and instinctively butterflies in his net but had no clue who shot it and where it was coming from. I think given that they were facing elimination in OT he heard the shot and immediately said to himself oh shit.. then the horn is fucking blasting his ear off lol. Poor guy and definitely an anomaly. I wish I had camera control and I could watch it in a slow motion speed and angle of my choosing. Yes the Chicago vs flyers goal was similar except toews probably saw it maybe another hawk facing the play but the flyers defending were facing away from the goal.

I swear to god everytime dallas stars 99 game 6 was only confusing cause the rule was awful. technically its a good goal by what the rules were, and they couldnt really use this rule it was applied so weirdly. its kinda like the nfl's taunting rule sometimes almost nothing can be considered taunting and yet some people can bend the rules. its really what the ref feels and while thats always true atleast we can understand some of the normal calls.

I know all the Dallas Stars fans would probably like it if I kept my mouth shut but they're the only ones that don't want to discuss the validity of Brett holes Stanley cup winning goal. A lot has been made of this over the years but let's set the record straight, if you call that goal back in the regular season it's not a goal. If you call it back in the playoffs it's not a goal so that means if you call it back in the Stanley cup finals again it's not a goal. They had been recalling that as a no goal since October. But Gary bettman was worried that the league would be embarrassed after rushing the Stanley cup out on the ice too quickly, in his attempt to try to cover up and a small embarrassment, he created a much bigger one. Possibly the biggest black spot in the history of the Stanley cup finals. What's done is done. But that doesn't mean it's right no we can't play the game over no we can't take the Stanley cup back but it's still not a goal.

I'm a fan of neither team and call it as I see it. That was a good goal based on the rules. Sorry.

What about the Flames vs the Lightning in the 2004 Cup Finals? Game six, Gelinas scored in regulation, but the refs openly refused to review the goal, and when it was, the result wasn't stated from Toronto. Days went by between games six and seven before a "review" was shown, where the goal line was doubled in width to hide the fact that Gelinas won the Cup for Calgary in game six. That also just adds to the blatant tripping done by the Bolts in OT that converted directly to the game winning goal. It was done RIGHT in front of the ref, who was looking directly at the play as it happened. Tampa failed to score again, which lead to OT; this essentially robbed a team of a championship. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/g6x_Zdxhx5uoqHk.html

Even more reason to believe Betteman I'd against Canadian teams. He made it clear that no Canadian team is to win and hasn't since his first year in the league in '93.

Oh, my poor Blackhawks. Where did it all go so wrong? Anyway, great video, I love crazy "WTF" stuff like this, always amusing. Personally, I'd like to think that if Gretzky had a stronger role in that game against the Czechs things would've been different, but who knows? Awesome stuff.👍🏒🥅🚨
