I think I have the same models you have! I am doing lettuce in the iDOO and herbs in the Aerogarden. In the summer in South Texas, I cannot grow coriander or lettuce outdoors. The current iteration of my coriander is experiencing a nasty issue of algae - much worse than I've experienced in the past. And I've found my lettuce quite limp in it iDOO - this is my third effort on that. Purchased the Aerogarden at Walmart on clearance a few years ago and the iDOO during a black Friday sale on Amazon.

Hi. Maybe you colud try to make the feed a bit stronger? Sound lile your lettuce may need more nitrogen. Can't help with the corriander, sorry. I'm one of those that thinks it tastes like soap LOL Have a great week over there!

I really enjoyed this review Steve, the side by side comparison was really good and informative. I liked the size of your aerogarden unit as the iDoo looked bigger and more intrusive. Thanks for the great incite 😊

Thanks for the great review. I've got the 8 basket iDOO and after a few months of winter have a great crop of parsley, which I use a lot. I'm going to keep one parsley going and use the other 7 for radishes. It's a nice unit and got it on sale for $60. Well worth it.

They are brilliant! Never very popular or well supported here in the UK but there are many clone spares like the baskets available now. Still big over there in the USA though, I believe, Have a great week IGG

What is the iDOO sitting on, that could be causing the bulge in the reservoir.

I raised the IDOO up on a small stand for the video to make it easier to see the drain plug etc, but normally it is sat on a solid kitchen worktop.

I use the Idoo 10 pod, which seems to be a better comparison to your Aerogarden because it also has long baskets. I don't care about the wires because they are in the back. Plant labels fit perfectly. Zero basket flex. The only thing I'd add is that the plants do grow toward the middle, but only at the beginning.

Nice to know! Maybe they sent me the wrong plant labels for this model? I did a review video of the LetPot LPH-SE --- so much better than the cheap iDoo. With all of them, I don't get why you need a drain plug! You need to lift the tank to use the drain anyway, so why not just tip it down the sink?

What's the most reliable of these units? Anyone? I've had vegehome for over a 6 year 8 months in replaced it on warranty because light burnt out. Now just over a year pumps gone.... I want something that will work for years.... Who makes the Toyota of hydroponics!

The LetPot ones (I've done two different model reviews) have not let me down so far. The old Aerogardens were good but the accessories were difficult to source in the UK, at a decent price. I was put off by this iDoo model from the first moment I filled it as the drain plug was leaking. I had to fit the spare. So I asked myself, why would they supply 2 drain plugs? A known issue? My Vegepod Kitchen Garden is excellent but that is a wicking system, not really a hydroponics unit. Obviously there ate many more that I have not tried yet so for now I would have to say the Letpot units are best. Hope this helps 🙂

Hi Frankie. I got my two direct from Acqua Tower but they were a lot cheaper then!! They do pop up in sales now and then, with quite big discounts. Mine are the non-solar type as I power them from the shed. acquatower.com/collections/growing-systems
