I have learnt a lot of words for developing my vocabulary but the thing I am concerned about is where should I use it. Typically in a monologue I generally tend to use the simpler words. Is there any way to get out of this problem?

It's fine to use simple words in normal conversations. For ielts monologue, start trying to insert few difficult words here and there
