I got an 8.5 for my IELTS Speaking in 2018 and what I’ve learned is that regardless of the fancy vocabularies, idioms , etc , staying calm during the interview is crucial.

elang uses: - adverb: otherwise - idioms: im not quite sure, raining cats and dogs - conditional clause: if i cound have.. - modifiers adverbs: quite magical, horrible affects - passive voice: brain injury caused by ... can be prevented by... - correlative conjunction: such an injury will be devastating not only for us but also - descriptive detailing (complex sentence +-2 sentence): my helmet has kevlar, which is a plastic but lighter, stronger, - conjunction: however - grammar form: have you ever seen snow-> yes, i have.. MINUS - Stalling: you know - salah tense "this past week it rains -> it rained" - belum sampai compound-complex sentence strategy: 1. idioms (ex: heavy rains= raining cats and dogs) 2. collocation (ex: safety gear, social creatures) 3. quantitative speaking 4. elaborate more and give examples 5. using "people" instead of "you" 6. Don't forget to reflect the grammar of the question in that the examiner is asking (feedback from examiner) 7. stuck searching for vocab, stalling 8. Nervous

I felt a bit nervous when I watched this video. I tried to answer all questions. but, I couldn't answer all questions nicely. I was not satisfied due to some questions were quite hard to answer likely. after all, I have to keep going. in addition, by and large, the candidate could come up with good ideas to answer all questions. I saluted. I think he is accustomed to encountering these kinds of questions even his pronunciation is not really good as other candidates that have got the score. but, the way he answered the questions that could affect his score much. I appreciate it.this video is useful

Fortunately, I had MUCH EASIER QUESTIONS on the test day which I took on Sep 21st in Uzbekistan. But I GOT 6,5, ANYWAY 😅. Here are the questions: Part 1. Do you work or are you a student? Why are you studying English? Where can you see fish in Uzbekistan? Will you keep fish in the future? Why? What do you like to talk about with your friends? Do you prefer to talk or to listen? Have your discussion topics changed since you were a child? Part 2. Describe a sport that you would like to try in the future. You should say: What sport you would like to try When you would like to try this sport Whether it is difficult to learn this sport And why you would like to try this sport. Part 3 What type of sport is popular in Uzbekistan? Why it is popular? Should children do team sports? Is it important to do sports to keep fit? Are children doing more or less sport these days?

@@RoomCorner_ English isn't Indonesia's native or official/constitutional language. Achieving band 7.5 IELTS score isn't an easy task for most of us (failing an IELTS test means we throw away bucks of Rupiahs). Anyway, we don't know the test taker IRL. Maybe he's an introvert like I am who got nervous when speaking long words (even when I speak in my native language). I'm better at writing than at speaking *Please note that appreciating & overproud are 2 different things*

Are those videos about ielts speaking posted on youtube partially for publicity or something? I took this test a few months ago, and I found that compared to those examiners on youtube, my examiner was so unprofessional. What those examiners on KZfaq have in common is they speak very clearly at a moderate speed, guide the candidate to fully show their language skills, and are very encouraging and patient. For example, if the candidate is so focused on answering the question that they forget to use a specific tense, the examiner will ask a question that can only be answered in that kind of tense to see if they can answer correctly. However, when I took the test, the examiner was the opposite. First, he spoke so fast that I couldn't follow him when asking questions, so I had to ask him to repeat what he had asked, which he did so reluctantly, and even rolled his eyes. What's more, he interrupted me when I just began to answer his question. He asked me how I went to the test venue and why, and when I just started explaining, he asked another question. He was also very discouraging and impatient. This was so obvious in part 3. When asking questions, he spoke in a tone of voice that made me feel that he was in such a hurry to end the test, and he asked the next question though I was still answering the first one.

What is your favorite sport? My favorite sport is undoubtedly Cricket. I love playing it with my friends, just the other day I and my friends played a fairly even game in the morning. The idea is that you imagine that they do. You imagine you're speaking to an older English speaking family member of yours. You mustn't take it too literally. Good studies.

Gautam Patel no, that’s not how it works They give marks out of 9 for 4 different criteria ( fluency, vocab, grammar, coherence)

Both of these services are an extra cost, on-demand (editing 6 cents US/word, private speaking interview with feedback 25USD/30minutes session). These are an extra cost for the following reasons: 1. It takes extra work time for professionals who work for no less than 18 USD/hours, as this is a minimum for such jobs in the west. 2. The number of editing and speaking help varies for different students, so it makes sense to do this on-demand. 3. Not all students can afford this service, so we make it optional to keep down the cost of our Premium Full Course. Saying natural filler like 'Umm' or 'Aaa' is completely normal, and won't lower your band score as long as it isn't excessive, it is better to focus on coherence and fluency rather than avoiding natural filler.
