Dear @Shwetay793, Thank you for sharing your feedback and concerns. I'm glad to hear that you found the content helpful, and I appreciate your suggestion for future videos. I understand the challenges you're facing with knowledge and idea generation. It's common to encounter difficulties when tackling unfamiliar topics. To address this, I'll definitely consider creating videos on how to gain knowledge about various subjects and improve idea generation skills. In the meantime, I recommend exploring resources such as online courses, educational websites, and reputable news sources to broaden your understanding of different topics. Websites like Coursera, and TED Talks offer valuable insights across various disciplines. Additionally, reading books, articles, and journals related to your interests can also help expand your knowledge base. Do we need to use proper idioms in essay
@crackieltswithsimer
@crackieltswithsimer Ай бұрын
While idiomatic expressions can add sophistication to your writing, they are not obligatory in IELTS essays. The key focus should be on clear and effective communication. However, demonstrating an ability to use idiomatic expressions appropriately can contribute to showcasing a higher level of language proficiency. It's important to remember that the primary criteria for lexical resource in the IELTS assessment include flexibility, precision, and appropriateness of vocabulary usage. Therefore, if you choose to incorporate idioms, ensure they are used judiciously and enhance rather than obscure your message. Ultimately, prioritize clarity and coherence in your writing to maximize your overall score.

@ayeshabutt Yes for sure. Here is my essay for the statement used in this video, which is most likely at Band 9.0 level. Historic towns and cities, though steeped in charm and cultural significance, face considerable challenges in meeting the needs of modern inhabitants. This essay will examine the problems arising from the disparity between historical suitability and present-day demands, and propose solutions to mitigate these issues. One significant problem facing historic towns and cities is inadequate infrastructure. Many of these places were designed centuries ago, without consideration for modern necessities such as efficient transportation and robust utilities. As a result, residents often grapple with congested streets, outdated sewage systems, and insufficient public services. For instance, cities like Rome struggle to balance the preservation of ancient monuments with the demands of a modern metropolis, leading to infrastructure deficiencies and urban decay. To address these challenges, governments and local authorities must prioritize sustainable development and adaptive reuse of historic structures. By repurposing old buildings for contemporary use, cities can preserve their cultural heritage while meeting modern needs. For example, Barcelona's Poblenou district underwent a successful transformation from an industrial hub to a vibrant, mixed-use neighbourhood through adaptive reuse initiatives. Additionally, investments in smart urban planning technologies can help optimize space utilization and improve infrastructure efficiency. Cities like Singapore exemplify the benefits of incorporating smart solutions to manage urban growth while preserving historical identity. In conclusion, historic towns and cities face pressing challenges stemming from the disparity between past suitability and present demands. However, through strategic planning, sustainable development initiatives, and adaptive reuse projects, these cherished locales can overcome their obstacles and continue to thrive as vibrant, liveable spaces for generations to come.
