WITH SUCH A QUESTION, I usually thought we are supposed to mention the opposite first after stating our side in the introduction before writing on your position. Like if the dangers overtake the benefits , we should write an advantage before mentioning the demerits , before stating our opinion again in the conclusion. Nonetheless , awesome work.

It is great to see people who are trying their best to help other people. But, I think the essay you wrote deserves less than band 6.5 because of a number of reasons. I highly encourage to get more familiar with the band descriptors which a lot of people often find helpful to find out what you are expected to produce in IELTS writing task 2

In an essay type where only advantages and disadvantages are asked but no opinion is required, what should I mention in conclusion? In your own example question which appears at 5:00 mins in the video above what would be an ideal conclusion?

Hi Siddhant, if you have a question that does not require your opinion, like the example at 5:00, you can do the following for your conclusion. 1 sentence that summarizes the advantages, and 1 sentence that summarizes the disadvantages. This is usually enough (especially considering the word count) but you could also add in an additional sentence at the end stating how the given topic relates to society. An example for that specific question at 5:00 could be: As discussed, students who work for a year before university could gain valuable experience, making them more mature and capable for their future educational pursuits. However, it is also noted that a potential gap year could dissuade students from ever returning to university, thus negatively impacting the economy. All in all, analyzing this topic is crucial in order to best understand how students can contribute to society after high school.

Those word are intended for students aiming to score above band 8. They are not uncommon if you read informative articles in the news media.
