Hello. At 0:18, you said, "Of course, IELTS KNOW all the problems that many students have ...". Why is the verb a plural form "know" rather than a singular form "knows" as the word "IELTS" is a singular or uncountable noun?

It is more instinctual for native English speaker to follow up words ending with 's' with a singular verb, which in here is 'know'.

@@harshilpatel6094 No. It is because "IELTS" is used as a plural here. So, we are talking of "they" know. They "knows" doesn't sound very correct. One more example is using "Police do" instead of "Police does" When she says "IELTS know", she means "the people at IELTS know" and hence plural.

Thank you. I got 10. I have a doubt... While attempting the practice tests, I realised a few things.. Eg. 1. Regarding the names of places, I wrote the answer as New Town / Sun Shine / Sun Shade whereas in the answer key, it says Newtown/ Sunshine/ Sunshade. Is my answer right? And we can use no more than three words. 2. Question : has lovely ________ I wrote 'gardens'. Answer: Garden. But, in the tapescript, it was written 'Gardens'. Is my answer right? 3. If the question is - _______ to _______ I wrote : 1882 1883 without 'to' and without 'hyphen (-)'. Which one is correct to write on the answer sheet? 1882 1883 or 1882 to 1883 or 1882 - 1883 4. I wrote 50 Kilometers Answer given : 50 Kms Which one is right? Thanks a lot in advance.

Hello Tr,Liz I had a monk test before practicing with your guide line, I got only 20/40 But I took all your listening tips and practices, and then I took the test again (for listening only) admittedly, I got 20/40 again what would be my weakness and lack of ability Tr I feel so depressed . Although I made progress, the result hadn’t changed.

This is a language test. If your level of English is band 6, you will get a band score around band 6. Tips can help you maximise your score, but tips can't change your level of English. Think very carefully about the level of your English and your IELTS aims. Talk to your teacher and discuss this.

What helped me to grasp this lesson.... When I hear sounds like "teen or tin" - it means number 1 comes BEFORE a number e.g. 15 When I hear sounds like "tee or tea" - it means a number is followed by ZERO e.g. 80
