Nice review MB , on silicone / foams/ eartips..I got away from the foam fix, as i label it...Ive text ya before ,on my t500z, comply/ znari/ tin infamous ,powder blues..I have alot of foams eartips, that ,just sit in my audio/ sewing / kit box..works nice btw..Anywho, my problem ,with foam or bullet eartips,either foam or silicone, is !! Once you tiproll a foam eartip, to insert, ya ,ave to wait for it to expand...then!! Once it expands, ya really cant fidget seal, like i do with all my eartips, that are silicone...also, with bullet style eartips, if you wince ,or tighten your jaw, for a second, it gets louder, it becomes an inconsistent listen...happens with my final e set silicones...So, i like ,what your stating in your video, prefer a shallow ,wide bore silicone eartip..you dont need ,the depth insertion, and it abb sa loot lee, improves the fullness ,and sonics, all the way around..The comply eartip ,shallow foams are the T 200 comfy...xpensive too....Anywho!! Nice review on the eartips..oh!!! Also ,foams imo, cause a muffling of the sound imo...shallow silicones, add, bounce, fullness, clarity to go with...

Good guide , which foam tips do you prefer at most? I got small earcanal , if I try foam for the z12 its a mediocre fit but for the bravery its mostly uncomfortable because its so deep in the ear , the S doesnt isolate good because it not compress as good as the bigger ones M-L but they never fit comfortable in the Ear.. its kinda sad because i like the feeling more than standard silicone tips. Bravery only using with azla elastecs because they are shaping like my ear canal they are very oval now... but its fine the fit is better as silicone over time.

The tips I show in the video I use the most. Comply T500 Isolation or Comfort (rounder), then cut them. On s12 I use the shortest tips, the cut comforts.

@@MichaelBruceShortbus I got yelled at for using the same tip on most IEMs but for me it’s about getting a good seal and insertion depth… I never found it changed tonality when those are equal, I just like a good fit. Appreciate the explanation!

If what you say is the case, why do dekoni tips greatly take away treble and bass compaired to my other foam tips while being the same bore size and size? The amount of density of foam used? This is just not making sense to me, if it was all from a tighter seal from the foam compared to silicone then shouldnt foams sound more wide and detailed? I used to only use foam tips when I got into this hobby, then I got a spinfit cp100 and that changed things for good for me.

For me Dekoni tips didn't seal because the foam was too stiff to compress. Maybe something like that is happening for you? The Comply tips can definitely go in further since you can compact them and get them deeper.

Also, for spinfits, I could be wrong but those extend the bores quite a bit.. and decrease the nozzle diameter in the process.. thereby changing the tuning. Also many folks have angled or Z bends in their canals so if the sound-exit hits the wall of the ear canal, you get less treble. Spinfits mitigate this by allowing the angling of the bore itself. I still don't like alterning the bore diameter if possible.

I have only tried dekoni, tennmak, tripowin spirals and linsoul foam tips so I cannot account for the complys. The dekoni both reduced bass and treble the most out of all of them for me. So much that the original tin t3 with any silicone tip was violently sibilant but with dekoni it tamed it down, actually before all the crazy collabs happened I strictly used the dekoni gemini (3mm bore) on the blon bl-03 since the inner bore of that tip was small enough to fit on the tight nozzle it was perfect and even better it fixed the blon for me. Trying silicones on them afterwards just made it seem to have too much bass and a little sharp treble than Id like. But now all the collabs came out from HBB, crinn and so on. I try those tips and my others and it just seems to make them so dull in comparison to spinfits. I dont know about how they could add a changing tuning compared to other silicone tips because those sound good too but like you mentioned, because of the angling effect it shoots the sound directly into your ear. To me I truly believe I am hearing the intended tuning that way compared to foams where they take away from the tuning. Why else would most iem companies give you silicone tips if not for you to hear what they intended you to hear from their own tips that were supplied and graphed with? As for the spinfit types, there are 3 I mainly use and thats the cp100 (this has the angled bore if anything taming the treble down but nowhere near as much as foams do) the 145 which has the same bore size all through and the cp500 this one has a wide and long bore to add way more treble and bass then the original intended tuning. I know sound changes the deeper your iem is into your ear, I believe foams have their place for isolation in comparison to silicone. But because of this, no matter how much closer it would be to my eardrum I do not think that was the intended tuning the manufacturer was intending you to hear.
