'일곱 가지 보석'이라는 명칭답게 다양한 매력을 지닌 칠보는, 동, 은, 유리 등 불로 다스리는 여러 재료들을 통해 아름다운 작품을 만들어내는 우리의 전통 공예입니다. 현재 갤러리코어에서 진행 중인 《이음》전에는 한국예술문화명인 오선아 작가의 영롱한 칠보 작품들이 전시되어 있으며, 최연소 칠보 명인의 손에서 탄생한 깊이 있는 색조와 정교한 표현력, 그리고 자연을 향한 따뜻한 시선이 담긴 작품들을 이번 전시에서 만나보실 수 있습니다.
이번 전시에서, 오선아 작가는 칠보에 유리, 목조 등의 재료를 접목시킨 다양한 작품을 선보입니다. 특히 나이테의 자연적인 곡선을 매개로 칠보와 나무를 융합한 〈나이테 기행〉 시리즈는, 나이테가 물고기와 오리가 오가는 물결이 되고, 그 물결이 이어져 은하수가 되는 연속적인 표현을 통해 인간의 그림과 자연의 그림을 한 작품으로 이어 냅니다. 작가만의 연구를 통해 완성한 입체적인 굴곡 역시 작품에 시공간을 초월한 역동성을 더하지요.

From March 3, 2023 to May 3, 2023, Gallery Core presents the 《Ieum》 exhibition by artist Oh Seon-ah.
Chilbo, also known as cloisonne, is a traditional Korean craft that creates stunning works of art by taming various materials such as copper, silver, and glass with fire. As the name - which directly translates to "Seven jewels" - suggests, chilbo's mesmerizing shine and vibrant colors have been beloved by people throughout history. At the ongoing 《Ieum》 exhibition at Gallery Core, magnificent chilbo works by Korean master artist Oh Seon-ah are on display. Experience the rich color, intricate craftsmanship, and love towards nature held within the brilliant artworks crafted by Korea's youngest chilbo master.
At this exhibition, Oh Seon-ah showcases various works that integrate materials like glass and wood into chilbo. In particular, the 〈Journey Through The Tree Rings〉 series fuses chilbo and wood along the natural curves of tree rings, seamlessly merging human and nature's art into one masterpiece. Tree rings turn into waves, then into galaxies as the two materials connect. The three-dimensional curves of the pieces, which are the result of the continuous experimentation and research by the artist, imbue the artwork with dynamic energy that transcends time and space.
