0:00 Intro
We're creating a simple game in Power Automate for Desktop. The game takes you through the If and Loop actions, as well as best practices in RPA development. First, create a new variable and assign a random value to it (our secret number). Then, use a Display input dialog action to take user input (the guessed number).
3:37 If
The If action asks a question and performs actions based on the outcome of the condition. Inside the If condition, we use a Display message to give the user a hint in the guessing game. Next, drag in an Else action to specify what will happen if the If condition is not true.
5:23 Loop
A Loop action also has a condition, and a Loop runs over and over as long as the condition is true. If nothing changes, it will run forever. Therefore it's best practice to always add something so the Loop stops at some point. The simple solution is to implement a counting variable and let the loop run X times. It's also shown how to make more statements in one condition using the AND operator.
15:13 Generate a random number
Use the Generate random number action to generate a random number instead of our static one.
