The new singles are so good! And as somebody who has been listening to A7X since the early thousands, I though it would be fun to remix Nobody in the style of City of Evil/ Self Titled.
It was admittedly more difficult than I though, as the old style would tend to be a higher tempo, but I used some rhythmic tricks to imply a rushed feel.

Vocals were isolated using AI, Drums are GetGood Invasion, Guitars played through Neural DSP Archetype Plini with GGD Cali Cabs, and Bass is played through Sansamp and Darkglass B7K.
Mixed and Mastered with Slate Digital All Access Pass.

it's honestly way way better than the official version, which is sad. The official version is fucking boring and drones on and on, this one at least has some instrumentation other than a droning guitar. The new stuff has almost no guitar accompaniment which is.. bewildering to say the least. Synn's guitar is such a huge part of their sound

@Andrue Anderson The chorus melody has some Dio in it. I kind of expect to hear a JB in the bridge chugging to that. It sounds better live and might make for a great show once people cotton onto it. But for the most part, if we're being honest it's too influenced by inferior, fake musics. At their best they're as good as any hard rock band who ever recorded something. I don't understand why these guys would stoop down and borrow from Yeezus and similar off-putting postmodern hip hop which doesn't belong in the same building as a track like Critical Acclaim or Nightmare or Blinded in Chains or Second Heartbeat. People are fucking brainwashed idiots, even geniuses. They all think ugly shit made with machines is art. Lou Reed was a degenerate c***sucker and he loved Yeezus. QED.

The lead at 1:29 is totally City of Evil! Cracked a huge grin at that. Also dropping out the instruments felt a lot more powerful at 2:06 than in the original. Wish the guitar solo was incorporated somewhere at the end because that's the original's main staying point, but kudos for a great cover!

Ive loved A7X my entire life. And I still do but this album was waaay too trippy for me. Definitely a fun listen through and Im happy they follow their hearts to whatever they want to do. But yeah its just way too far out there for my tastes hahah. I miss this kind of sound. Phenomenal job dude

Some parts were a bit too busy, although I definitely get the sound you were going for with this. Vocals don't quite mesh well with the rest of the sound, but that's unavoidable when trying to do this. It's very clear this was made out of passion for both the new song and their older stuff, and overall it is pretty cool, nice work!

People have raised that that's similar to City of Evil, and while I agree City of Evil has a lot going on, it meshes together much more coherently than this remix. I love City of Evil, and I really like the new album (although not as much as some of their other albums), but this remix feels less coherent than either, but otherwise it's pretty good.

The dual guitars in the chorus then splitting into the arpeggio style took me back. It truly does sound like old A7X, a job well done there. Ive been following the band since waking the fallen and have come to enjoy the variety they produce with each record. Ive been wondering what the fans who come aboard during Nightmare think about this one lol. Id bet they lost a couple mainstream listeners with LIBAD and The Stage. Me personally, I think I owe A7X for helping me develop an open mind for music.

The only problem I have with this is some of the harmony stuff. The lead stuff that goes over the "Here we fly so high," bit is decidedly minor when the vocals definitely use a major third. Other than that, this is fucking stellar. A really great representation of everything they were previously but blending it in to what they are doing now.

This is AWESOMENESS, IM TRULY HAPPY FOR THIS , I know they are trying to do something new and different, but for me , being an A7X fan for years, that new album was ok but not would be my favorite. This "remix" was what I was looking for the complex riffs and the well put together notes. I don't want to hear an avenged sevenfold album that sounds like a watered down ,trying to be a part of the modern. I want the music to make me feel like I'm avenging some shit, like all the other albums have , people are to stress and work to hard, and need something that can energize and forget about the norm, if I wanted to hear some soft shit I'll just listen to simple plan . Great job hope this get a billion views 👏 👍

Definitely some interesting ideas that I think could fit really cool like the chorus I like a lot. If the vocals were written more for this style it’d work a lot better but Awesome job at everything I know it was hard work!

Thanks! The vocal tracks are the one thing about these writing exercises that can’t be changed, and it ends up becoming a real challenge to make them fit. Great songwriting practice though, and good fun too!

Mate, as a guitarrist and huge lover of A7X, this is amazing! I have listened just once the whole album and it's weird...still need time to give it another go, it's completely different from anything previous for sure but that's what bands many times do. Amazing how AI isolated the vocals and your work, superb.

I recognize the huge work behind this but I feel like the original Nobody is like tailored on Shadows voice and gives a totally different vibe, idk if it's cause it has grown on me so much or I've listened to the original so many times but the original is on another level of experience. Good job anyway, that definitely gave me the city of evil vibes that you were looking for, i guess!

Definitely, definitely interested in more of your interpretations. They sound great and you've done a great job manipulating these vocals to a more classic backtrack. If you continue with these I think Easier would be the natural progression, could easily go a Lost route with it.

Avenged sevenfold was my absolute favorite band since I first discovered them playing need for speed most wanted. I absolutely loved every single one of their albums but this most recent release I just could not get into. Don't get me wrong though! Purely from a musical standpoint in terms of musicianship, it's an absolute masterpiece. Powerful lyrics, very creative writing and blending of different genres. The inspiration really comes through, but personally, I'm not going to be putting this on just to vibe to at any point.

The cover is cool, but tye original is insane! Probably the best album since Nightmare. I love darker albums and this one definitely IS! So many things going on performed insanely well, it has the best ballad from all their albums for sure and overall everything blends together so well and the best part is that the more I listen to it, the more I like it, which I don't usually experience! And ever since the releace of In the court of the dragon LIBAD is the only new metal album that actually made me feel... something!
