Around 12 volts is where the audio fades out. This is because there is a transistor that drives the speaker that dies first before everything else. The chip was fine until around 20 volts because it has a voltage regulator attached before it. If there was no regulator for the chip, it would have blown up even on batteries.

The sound chip must have had a voltage regulator as it lasted far too long but the head motor definitely went too fast on high voltage and mashed up its gearbox. The smoke was definitely the best bit. Billy bass is always hilarious on low batteries.

I'm surprised that the sound lasted as long as it did. Usually the sound chips pop around 7 volts, but this one died around 12. Also the under volted at the end was hilarious!

The sound chip had a voltage regulator before it. I've worked on Billy Bass before. Quite fascinating.

Actually they can run at 7 volts no problem but its when its over 7 you have to worry about it (i ran one of mine on 7 and it was fine)

Big Mouth Fish (I think by Jiada) is a fake rip-off of the 2000s Billy Bass. They’re prone to lose their sound after like… 7 voltages. But the original Billy Bass… will not stop high pitching the voice and will not crackle and will not crack up unlike the fake rip-off called Big Mouth Fish. Can the next video be that after this. Yes, they will have seizures, but the Chinese low-quality knockoff versions are more likely to lose their sound unlike the real version after being given like 7 volts of power or something.
