Awesome video. If I would to do it over again. These would be my list. 1. Compliance, understand it or your done. 2. Grown in soil medium, easy learning curve. 3. Use basic nutirent, general hydroponics = Grow, Micro, bloom, Cal Mag and Silica. Nothing more for now. 4. Buy affordable led grow light. 150w-250w. 5. But a small grow tent. Just learn to grow 1 plant for now. So you can understand how the plant is. 5. Just buy 1 quality strain. And nurture it. 6. Don't check on the plant everyday, you'll drive yourself crazy not seeing much of a difference. 7. Search up your strain to determine how long it will take to flower. 9. Take photos, video every week of your grow. From seedlings to flower and keep it logged. 10. Patient is your friend, rushing it destroy your hard work. 11. Keep it F'n simple. Master one plant and environment, you will be able to replicate it later on to bigger rooms.

This is pretty dang goog. I totally disagreeing with your nutrient suggestion. Absolutely go with all purpose dry organics or you'll be chasing deficiencies, burning seedlings, there's a much bigger learning curve with synthetics rather than running a simple happy frog with Perlite, then topdressing every 30 days. Can play with worm teas if you want, but synthetics for a beginner oh man you're asking for issues. Other than that, yes sir.

The most important thing I learnt was that Humidity is relative to the temp. They amount of people that just say grow at 65% for example mean nothing without temperature. A VPD of .80KPa for veg. can be achieved at 75f and 74%....or at 82f / 78% But in flower when you want to be at about a VPD of 1.40 . at 75f you would need low humidity of 55%, but to achieve the same VPD of 1.40 KPa at 82f needs more humidity at 64% This is also impotent for drying to. 60/62 maybe the perfect dry, but if it's a heatwave and you can't get temps down below 80f, then raise the humidity if you can to 70%. as there is still less moister in the air than at 60/62. Because humidity is relative to the temperature.

If you can control it that precise then by all means. Personally I aim for between .8 and 1.2. If you try and be too precise then it will only stress you out.
@UbiquitousRomp
@UbiquitousRomp 9 ай бұрын
@@T-money0985 Your perimeters of .8 - 1.2 KPa are all good bro. You won't have much problem in that range. But in early veg when they are seedlings I like to with high humidity of about 80% until the last piece of seed shell has dropped off. I've got a 600w six bar light. But I remove five bars and start with just one, so I get low temp of 74ish, which helps to get the lower VPD. then as I add the bars/heat as the grow progresses across my 4x4, the vpd range heads in the right direction. So by the time i'm at 900|PPFD in flower, I'm also easily able to maintain 82f and I high VPD.which makes the plants drink loads and increases the transpiration to the max But nothing is set in stone when growing weed. I've seen grows that never went above 1.0 KPa without a problem, due to lots of air movement right through the canopy and good extraction.

@@T-money0985spot on and even at scale chasing VPD is only gonna increase yields by max 2-3% . It’s a moot point for the home grower and can actually reduce quality. For example ain’t no way I’m gonna increase my temps in mid 80s to match humidity to get the ( ideal vpd)
@UbiquitousRomp
@UbiquitousRomp 9 ай бұрын
@@timpage5021 Don't have to bro....but if your in a hot spell and are in the 80's then increasing the humility helps and will also lower the temp a bit. You don't want to be in late flower with temps in the 80's and very low RH. So adding some humidity Using the VPD as a guide, will save you drying out the terps.

@@UbiquitousRomp thank you. But I run Gorilla Grow tents with the added height extensions. Comes in clutch to combat high heat summer days. Since investing in them a few years ago I been able to consistently control the environment for whatever stage of growth. I actually do run my flower tents about 80-82 temperature for most of flower except for the last couple weeks. But on those occasions of exceptionally hot day I’ll actually dim my light a lil bit for a few hours to cool the leaf surface temperature. I use a infrared red gun to test the leaf surfaces. Contrary to what most people might think a leaves might be much cooler than what the ambient temperature is as well. That’s the beauty of running LEDs is we can run a warmer climate, get more light driving photosynthesis than the old days of air cooled hoods , parabolic reflectors and the occasional knocking out of neighbors cable lol. But anyway appreciate the tip . Good looking out. I’m not saying VPD isn’t useful but not really that important for the home grower so long as their environment is in accordance with an acceptable range of temperature and RH for the stage of growth their in. Stay lifted

Be aware the light will make a lot of heat. If it's in a room with the door closed you need a plan to bring in more cool air or vent the tent air out. My small bedroom will get over 90 degrees with the G5000 at 80% and the house ac at 72. I keep the window open in cooler weather. If I want to run it in summer, I'll have to vent it to the attic or to an opposite room. There's not an air return for the ac in this room either. If you have an air return in your room, this issue may not be as bad.

If I was going to start now I'd probably get Happy Frog soil as a base and add a bunch of worm castings, biochar, and Dr Earth's fertilizer tomato and veggies fertilizer for veg then their Flower Girl fertilizer blend for the flowering stage. LM301H EVO diodes are only on the SF series so far🙏🏻, I still love the G4500, the extra efficiency is awesome on the LM301H EVO series for those wanting upgrades. Otherwise individual indoor tent growers probably won’t have the need for higher hanging hight but instead lower hanging distance between led and canopy, hence the G series vs lowering and dimming.

Great advice, Thank you.. I do have one question that I am sure would help a LOT of growers around harvest time.. It is always "watch for the trichomes to get somewhat cloudy" now here comes my ignorance.. Which Trichomes on Which part of the bud.? I see them just like snow in that they are on the parts that eventually turn red, ie: red hairs,, on the 'sugar leaves',, on the other leaves on the bud,, etc.. .This will be my fourth harvest on the current setup and I would really enjoy better 'results'.. Thanks for all your knowledge..
@buschdoktor6127
@buschdoktor6127 9 ай бұрын
I would in general check for trichomes on the calyx (that "bags" where the hairs come out) as those build the mass of the bud and so should be the best reference point. Also, sugar leaves develop first. You want ripe bud, not ripe trim. As the browning is a visual sign of THC degrading into THN, the THC level will become lower with more amber trichome glands while other cannabinoids still develop. So, the peak THC is reached with only milky trichomes which gives you a typical high, while further plant development (browning glands are only an indicator) increases the stonedness effect more. I remember when pure THC (extracted from, i think, max. 0.3% THC fibre hemp and pricey af to this procedure but that's a whole other topic) was released as medication here and patients noticed reduced effectiveness using this isolate. So don't focus too much on high THC only. 70/30 is more of a general advise, I would just try and harvest some buds individually in a few days interval, beginning from "all milky" and harvest a little more on that often suggested 70/30 ratio. So you can directly compare and decide, what works for you with a specific genetic.

@@buschdoktor6127 Thank you.. Now I know which part to focus on.. as you mentioned it all develops at different rates so knowing which ones are the important ones will help.. Funny thing is I never had a problem getting really "good results" until I got a magnifying glass to see better..
@buschdoktor6127
@buschdoktor6127 9 ай бұрын
@@deserthorizons In a commercial scale it's easy to turn good results into mediocre at most pretty quick, even without bad intentions. Loss through harsh handling, quick drying which makes the whole bud crumble or trimming machines can be expected. Also they might miss the perfect harvest point as well or focus on high turnover rate more than quality herb and miss it intentionally. Better to have a part of trichomes not developed perfectly and losing only a few than losing a lot of them afterwards. Add some bad intentions, depending on the source of your comparison material, and any homegrown without major problems will stand out by far. I think of it like cooking. You don't need to cook on a 3 star Michelin level to create a great meal if you get the basics right. Also, a high end kitchen and ingredients don't guarantee a good result, if one doesn't know how to hold a knife. Seems like your meal was great and just so slightly undercooked, only a professional food critic would notice, master chef! =)

You will have charcoal filter in mind for you stealth grow. Don't get ought out with the drying. Make sure that is also in a filtered tent. Which means you will have to harvest all at once, which can be a pain if growing different strains, that don't ripen at the same time. So if you want a perpetual grow with auto's for instance. set up a separate dry tent with filter. Also use grove bags not jars. as the bags don't clunk when running across a fields in the dark.

RESEARCH, RESEARCH, RESEARCH, especially par maps. A TON of lights claim things that are not true. Another thing to look out for is the company that says the light is for a 5x5, but the par map is for a 3x3 or the outer edges are less than 400... Know your smoking type and genetic along with the environment. If possible run new power circuits. Lights, AC, humidifier, fan, etc will draw a good amount of power. You should really try and have a good 6' height to grow in. I would recommend more, but 6' is good. Personally I am not an organic grower. Tried powdered nutes and ended up going back to liquid. Most important is to JUST HAVE FUN. Do NOT go into growing with all your eggs in one basket.

It’s best to bring sativa back just grow 12|12 for the entire growth period. Only grow a n spring and fall. I think I’m in the wrong world. I think I need to move where it is legal and become a herb gardener. It’s safer than religion and politics

@@truthonly7699 Organic brought pests in. So simple for me with great yields, far better than anything I got from organics. is....Advanced nutrients PH perfect range (so no PH testing required). with some bottled organics, Microbes and enzymes added to coco.

The last time I had a crop was 13 years ago. I will tell you the technology has blown my mind. It’s crazy how much old tech isn’t used anymore. I know a 20 something year old that’s growing and was having bug problems this summer and asked me for advise. He wasn’t flowering so I told him to get a hotshot strip and put it in your grow area for 24hrs no fans no exhaust…. He came back to me and said that it isn’t organic that it’s a pesticide that will contaminate his buds all while he was eating McDonald’s…I thought to myself what would kill him first.

Title gives off the idea that youd kind of go through everything and tell of WHAT YOU'D DO IN 2023. This video could be 30 seconds and just say "research good sources for cannabis, if you want to grow cannabis" Should have really went through the new tech and term like DLI, VPD ect and tell us what you'd use specifically in a first grow
@Pigeons420

Except the video isn’t about “researching good sources for cannabis” it’s about things I would do in 2023 if I started growing. Almost like I named it perfectly…
