A great video that shows how children conceived through egg donation could resemble their parent(s). Selecting eggs from donors with particular physical attributes will certainly give you some control over the physical characteristics of the child. But this doesn’t mean it won’t look like its parents. As mentioned in the video, there are a number of ways the mother can influence the baby’s development during pregnancy and throughout life. The embryonic fluid where the baby lives in for nine months contains micro RNAs (Ribonucleic acid) molecules that serve as a communication link between the mother and the baby. These could impact both the baby’s physical appearance and personality genes. Another factor affecting the child’s development is its upbringing. Your parenting style will help shape the person your child will eventually become. What’s also very interesting is that children tend to adopt the vocal and facial expressions of their parents. No matter how your baby was conceived, parents will play a major role in who their children will eventually become. So explore all options out there, because sometimes donated embryos could be the only way you can experience the miracle of pregnancy and birth.

He didn't really explain how the child is yours if the eggs are not.
@valoxsen60035 ай бұрын
They aren't, biologically. What he's describing is basically just your womb influencing the direction of genes that aren't yours if you're pregnant with a donated egg. Sure, you have some influence and the child will belong to you, but they will never be your blood relation.

I have been researching this recently. I had my tubes tied during an extremely abusive relationship. Now I'm in a healthy relationship with a man that has never had his own children. I'm 43 and would be extremely concerned that my own eggs would pose health risks for a baby. I would like to use donor eggs and found some interesting information about fetal microchimerism. During pregnancy dna is passed back and forth through the placenta... the pregnancy would literally cause you to be genetically bonded to the baby you carry despite it not being your egg. It is almost as if this method of conception was preordained. Sadly, ill never be able to afford to do this , but I think it is a beautiful medical. miracle

It doesn't sound much different to surrogacy to me. Surrogates also gestate and birth a child that isn't theirs, and no one mentions their womb influence in those cases. Seems like all this talk about how the womb influences the embryo is just something to tell prospective mothers to make them feel better about their vastly limited genetic link to their donor conceived children.
@lanamaric59414 ай бұрын
When you use a surrogate, the womb also affects the gene expression. People may not mention it, but that doesn't erase it from happening. And yes, it does make prospective mothers feel better, but it's also factual.

I'm also looking into donor eggs. At first, I wasn't sure about this option at all! I thought maybe I should continue trying with my own eggs. I'm 44 and last year I had 2 failed cycles. I doubt my eggs will work at my age. Maybe I should've turned to de when I've had my first cycle. The more I learn about it, the more I'm into it! I've changed my attitude to the procedure completely. Now I feel more positive about it! I stopped thinking about relations with a baby or how he/she will look like. Now I feel like I can move further! I still have some questions. I hope someone will help me. How to prepare for ivf with donor eggs? Is it the same as ivf with own eggs? And also it would be great if you tell more about how to find a donor, where did you have your ivf, how much you paid, etc.
@sandrapolson26243 жыл бұрын
I’m sorry about everything you've faced going through infertility... I'm in the same boat. We are about to start de ivf cycle. Of course, all of us including me would prefer to conceive naturally... I wish I could do so... Anyway, I see nothing wrong with using donor eggs. The most important is to get pregnant and give birth to a healthy child. If de ivf is necessary to do - go for it. I have to use donor eggs. I had some doubts... But more I read about de, the more I think it's the best option for me. Anyway as I've already mentioned the most important is a baby. We have to go all the way! Currently, I'm following my treatment plan and getting ready for the transfer. I'm using a Ukrainian clinic BTC. They've found a donor for me. We're paying 11,900 euros for 5 embryo transfers. In the case of 5 negatives, we'll get the money back. So there's kinda no risks for us.

@@sandrapolson2624 good luck with your upcoming cycle! Thanks a lot for your support. I see many comments and reviews about Ukraine. I thought Ukrainian borders are closed... with all due respect, I do not think this is what science will tell us, but I am still considering an egg donor myself.
@AALavdas4 жыл бұрын
Τhat is exactly what CURRENT science tells us. Yes, everybody knows their high school biology facts - half your genes come from one parent, half from the other- but we now know that there is maternal influence in the regulation of those genes during pregnancy. Sure, this influence is small compared to the amount genetic information given by the egg donor, but it is significant. The same zygote if gestated by a different mother would give a different child.

A child from a donor egg is her child for two reasons: because she gives birth to him and raises him. No birth mother, there is not a baby. The baby recognizes the birth mother as his mother, whether or not she has her egg. But the egg donor is also a mother, she is the genetic mother.

@lanamaric59412 ай бұрын
@@nikhilnicky7810 Or father. Or a relative. Or no one. That genetic information is influenced by the the birth mom and the birth mom has the ability to affect gene expression. Nurture also has a huge role and that child may act like the birth mom for example. In the end, it is the birth mom who gave that life a chance. It is the birth mom who had the unconditional love and was willing to endure the impossible in many cases to have the child. That type of intentional and unconditional love is the number one ingredient for raising a healthy and well rounded, happy child. The donor is just a donor similar to an organ donor. The donor gave 1 cell and that payed a huge role of course. But the donor is not the child's mother.
