Holy shit this is going to sound fake but I have literally worked at the winery/cidery that makes the wine and cider for that tasting room. I can confirm also the guy who makes the wine has a big ego and doesn’t know what he is doing but the guy who is making all the cider is on top of his shit. I also had a strange feeling of "Wait hold on", I literally just took a trip to Traverse and used M-37 to get there. Gorgeous region, you'd struggle to find a place with more perfect summer weather. Tasty food and especially the fruits are some of the best you can possibly get. I'm not a wine guy though, I cared more about the ciders. Also that fat stack of Cherry Republic treats, mandatory to grab a haul when you're up there.

The head wine maker is the son of the Head wine maker for Chateau Grand Traverse (The first winery of that AVA) so you know he's been in the industry for a while. Their Row 7 is legitimately the best red wine I've had in Michigan. It's a field blend that came about when the owner and head wine maker asked the neighborhood next to the vineyard if they would help them plant the vines in exchange for a dinner. At the end of the planting day the two asked the neighbors which grapes they planted in which rows to which the neighbors replied "There were different grapes to plant for each row?" Tasting notes: Big fruit flavor including cherries, and plum. Vanilla, and clove are also present. Finishes with some earthiness and leather. All in all I give it a Michigan 10/10, and amongst the world I'd give it an 8/10
