Heddo remembers that he is a major league baseball player and does what a major league baseball player would do in this situation. Also, terrible no call on the Rowengartner balk while Heddo is berating him.

You'd be surprised how hard these pitches can be to hit for people who are used to seeing 100mph fastballs and 90mph breaking balls every other day. Lots of good hitters have struck out(or at least have ground/popped out) to pitches like this in the MLB. I remember going from playing legion ball(which is like high school age or just above), to playing in a slow pitch softball league with my friends. It waa not easy to hit those pitches, especially to get quality hits(line drives, long balls.) And the higher the pitch was, the harder it was to hit. After a few practices and a game or two I decided to not even try to hit it hard. I decided to just swing slowly and try to "hit where they ain't" as Ty Cobb would say. It's very difficult to have the patience to not just wait for the ball, but also to not try to swing super hard and fast trying to just smash the shit out of it
@zacharylowe80832 жыл бұрын
This is very true. You are so used to swinging earlier but you have to be super patient.

If Rookie of the Year was real, Henery wouldn't never have been put on the cubs because getting a fast arm from a injury cant happen
@jasonbrown32773 жыл бұрын
Actually it can happen. I have a friend who tore tendons in his arm when he was a kid. They took some of the tendons out of one of his legs and put it his arm. He was picked as the quarterback because he could throw bullets. Played 3b on our baseball team and batted clean up cause he had freakish power cause of that tendon.
@benkazel3 жыл бұрын
I wouldn’t be so worried about the injury that gave him the rocket arm, I’d be worried about future injuries occurring because of the 101mph gas. This kid’s mechanics are atrocious, he’s probably not 5 feet tall, and might not even be 100lbs. That’s a recipe for disaster, and I think the movie left out his future because his arm would be completely drained and he never touches 60 whilst throwing again. He would also get arthritis throughout his arm at an incredibly young age, and potentially (if he completely devastated every part of his arm, leaving no muscles, joints, and tendons) would receive an amputation.
@chefz27493 жыл бұрын
The real problem is his age - MLB has a hard age minimum of 16.
