@et3182, he’s also committed kidnapping (he kidnapped a handsome movie star to test the Ugly-Inator which would also be illegal human experimentation) and stealing every lawn gnome in the Tri-State Area is still grand larceny and I suspect freezing the Tri-State Area to get everyone to buy his hot chocolate that he secretly dosed with addictive substances to make himself rich would be a lot of crimes. And the Make up Your Mind Inator was supposed to “destroy anyone who can’t make up their mind” so I suspect that there are more crimes than just property damage (though most of them would have attempted in front of their names.)

For Maul and Palpatine you could argue for Murder of a police officer or a political figure since Jedi are basically the Galaxy's peace keepers. One thing I think I should add is about the times that they use force lighting. In the lore, force lighting is a power that is used by focusing anger and hate on an opponent, and you must generally desire to cause them pain, meaning that especially with palpatine, as the power was used to inflict immense pain on people like windu, it’s use could actually be classed as torture. Especially when you consider the fact the you have to want your opponent to suffer when using it.

Since he ordered the hit, he’s liable for the deaths of Dorme, the pilot, co pilot, (we don’t see them leave, and they probably have post flight checks and procedures, like in real life aviation, so they were certainly killed in the cockpit) security (we know at least one was aboard) and steward staff (including handmaidens) and attempted murder of the Captain and Padme, as well as the destruction of the Naboo ship and the damage to the landing platform.

Not necessarily, as he is a general in a war. Murder does not immediately mean a crime if the jedi are the one's assaulti g him. The movies don't show where he got the sabers from, but those 2 sabers do, and he didn't kill them. He should however be held accountable for kidnapping. Despite being Palpatine's plan, he still carried out (unknowingly being the same person) a kidnapping of the leader of the republic. Corrections: Maul only committed one aggravated assault because the 2nd time Qui Gon and Obi Wan started the fight. The geonosian arena executions are fully legal under geonosian law and Dooku was not attempting to kill any of the 3 being executed, because he didn't order the executions. Also, Obi Wan wasn't falsely imprisoned, he was arrested for trespassing on sovereign soil, infiltrating a government building and spying on government officials and corporate leaders. Dooku was only doing self defence initially against Obi Wan and Anakin, since *they* entered *his* hangar bay and both were attacking him. Again, he was defending himself against Anakin when he mutilated him. That roof is his own roof, it isn't property damage unless it is someone else's property. Umm, the alien minister is only showing his political bias, we have no idea of the actual situation the planet was in, especially given that we see huge numbers of people being arrested by republic troops once they were confident of victory. Grievous didn't commit assault because Kenobi tells him 'your move', meaning he has consented to the fight. Palpatine also wanted Dooku to kill Obi Wan, but Dooku purposefully spares him by throwing him against the wall. Yoda started the fight, Palpatine was merely defending himself with his weapon (initially). He is the Senate (!) remember, so it is his property.

@@NinjaBray "The Battle of Loedorvia was part of Operation Durge's Lance, a Separatist assault on the Core Worlds. Believing that terrorizing civilian populations was the essence of war,[1] General Grievous released the Brainrot Plague during the battle.[2] The plague spread through the entire Weemell sector, killing all the Clone armies and nearly every Human in the sector.[3]" "Some time following the conquest of Duro, a CIS fleet under General Grievous's flagship Invisible Hand launched several assaults on Humbarine.[2] This included an hour-long orbital bombardment that melted the crust of the planet, thus destroying the planetwide metropolis and presumably killing much of the population.[1][2]" "After capturing Jyvus Space City, the Confederacy was able to drop the planetary shields protecting Duro. Separatist drop-fighters and capital ships began orbital bombardment of planetside industrial factories. The bombardment let the troops land and during a week of hard fighting, city after city began to fall to the Confederacy until Hoolidan Keggle signed General Grievous's capitulation to the Separatists. The battle lasted less than a week. The battle completely destroyed the already fragile ecosystem of Duro. The orbital bombardment had destroyed the last safeguards against the toxins, waste and air pollutants. It left Duro impossible to live on without protective hazard gear. This forced the remainder of the population of Duro to also move off surface, to the orbiting cities of Duro.[6]" "Grievous himself witnessed Anakin's audacious assault, and though the little starfighter was no threat to his vessel, he was obligated to protect the lives of the Separatist Council members, and end the battle. The Invisible Hand opened fire on a refugee convoy attempting to flee the besieged planet, causing the deaths of approximately ten thousand innocents. This caught the Republic forces by surprise, and it allowed Grievous' fleet to escape into hyperspace." starwars.fandom.com/wiki/Battle_of_Loedorvia starwars.fandom.com/wiki/Bombardment_of_Humbarine starwars.fandom.com/wiki/Battle_of_Duro_(Clone_Wars) starwars.fandom.com/wiki/Battle_of_Belderone That's just to give some examples of the many atrocities that Grievous committed.

Honestly, Dooku vs Anakin and Obi Wan could be considered self-defense, since they chased him down to try and capture him. He even gave them the opportunity to back down and allow him to leave peacefully, and only attacked when they continued. Maybe it could be considered resisting arrest, since the Jedi were acting as agents of the Republic, but that depends on the Republic's jurisdiction on Geonosis. There might also be an argument for Maul vs Qui Gon and Obi Wan not being murder due to it being an active war zone, and they were combatants on either side, with Maul essentially being security for the occupied palace. Soldiers in combat zones don't receive murder convictions, and Maul's actions don't seem to constitute war crimes. Honestly a lot of the villains here could be said to be acting in self-defense, Obi Wan is the one who came to Grevious with intent to capture or kill, and in both of Palpatine's duels, the Jedi came to him. For an order that says they only use defense, the Jedi sure start a lot of fights Love these videos, can't wait to see what's next!

Geonosis was not at war with the Republic at the time of AOTC- it was planning to wage war, but they hadn't declared it yet. Depending on the nature of being a member state of the Galactic Republic, Geonosis was likely engaged in sedition against the Federal government anyway.

I'm also kind of surprised you didn't slap Grevious with a reckless driving charge as well since not only did he run over one of his own men but he also nearly ran over Obi Wan as well.

You should do a video on if the Star Wars sequel trilogy villains were charged for their crimes.

I love how palpatine has so many punishments in only 2 movies (i guess he didn't count the attack of the clones)

True however he was there during an illegal invasion so you could argue that Quigon was defending the planet from an invader. And in some states you can use lethal force in against trespassers assuming all other options have been exhausted. Then again I have no actual idea what I'm talking about so take this with a grain of salt.
