I actually scared a barista when I went to Starbucks. Me: "Hello! One large, black coffee, please and thank you." Barista: "Cream and sugar?" Me: "No. Black." I thought the Barista's head was gonna pop. Now, had I ordered a mocha double decaf extra syrup no foam, it would have been fine.

No your not edgy for ordering black coffee the batista was specifying to make sure you didn't need room to pour some yourself the eyes was probably because you said it rude even in your way of putting it in text format.
