The reassembly was like a production line. One team assembles the frame starting at the front and the painter follows, but got a bit ahead there and got some paint burnt off! Then people swarm over the truck frame adding all the accessories and next thing you know, it's turned back into a truck again and ready to go with a much stronger frame than the original. Nice work.

The swinging of those mallets... one mistake, one slip-up and the other guy is seriously injured. The accuracy of those mallet throwers indicate that they have swung those heavy things thousands of times. Seems they have suffice electricity, can they not hammer those bolts by mechanical means? l tip my hat to the workmanship. l love the idea of rebuilding, the minimal wastage of material.

Lots of vids of these doubled and tripled frames coming in with cracks, though. Overloading seems pretty standard there and the frame doubling and tripling is to allow more of it.

It can take twice the gravity yes. But it cant take twice the skidding forces so it keeps on cracking due to cornering. And the axle tubes break. Going from one thing into the other...

Watching these men pound down the rivets, reminds me that in the 30's and 40's the were using guns to do the same process. The one thing I would add is doing it their way has less chance of equipment break down.

Once the chassis rails have been beefed-up, how is everything bolted back on in line? Don't the dimensions change? Eg spring mountings 3/4" further outboard each side but axle spring mounts unchanged?
