I would ask my clownfish, Stanley how old was he when I bought him. I’ve had him for 3 and half years and I have always wanted to know how old he was when I purchased him. I would also ask him if he likes the other 4 fish in the tank. Lastly I would ask him if he likes the tank. I originally put him in a 20 gallon for the first 8 months I had him before putting him in a 38 gallon tank Ps I named him Stanley because I bought him a few months after the Penguins won the 2016 Stanley Cup

Ryan O if your dogs are grabbing socks and running around playing keepaway (playtime of prey after hunting), they are trying to climb pack hierarchy and challenge you as leader because the leader starts and stops play time and wins it, so if they can grab sock eat it and you can't catch them despite best effort, in their mind they won a physical contest against you which is pleasing to them to defeat a human in play battle and become new pack leader. You MUST catch them and take sock out mouth and say no and end play time. That establishes you as leader because you defeated him in battle, won playtime, stopped it, took prey out his mouth and ate first. Leader does all these. That's why your dog eats socks because it can win and climb pack hierarchy and establish it's victory over you in several ways (starting and stopping play time, winning, keeping prey away established as better Hunter and higher rank in pack because eats first wont give you it's fresh kill). The sock is just a roleplay of keepaway after you were to hunt a rabbit or squirrel. Dog is saying no I keep it in my mouth and I eat first because i won I am pack leader. if he eats a LOT of them and wins all the time, the dog believes he is leader not you at that time. At other times he reads body language of everyone in pack respecting you and sees Ryan is pack leader, so that's why he always feels need to grab sock. He is trying to challenge you for leader. You must defeat him and end play time. Also walk through doors first do every thing a pack leader does. Then dog will understand can't challenge you and might stop eating socks.

@@LunarCherries how would eating your own sox be an act of dominance? No it is not. Dog eating his sox is dominance because to the dog the sock is prey after a fresh kill and he is playing keepaway to demonstrate that he eats first and is superior Hunter, so the dog is asserting itself as pack leader by eating sucks and running away keepaway. You MUST win the game to prove to dog you are rightful leader. Catch him, retrieve sock from mouth, and do not give back, and dog will submit to you. If you let him keep grabbing socks and running off eating them and you never chase him down catch him and take sock back, the dog never learns that he is inferior in pack heirarchy. Dogs understand social hierarchy very well. Hierarchy is not entitlement or inheritence to a dog. Hierarchy is which dog is the toughest and the wisest leader. You need your dog to understand that you are stronger than it and will defeat it in physical confrontation. Once dog understands he cannot defeat you in battle, he will respect you as leader. If you keep letting dog chew socks, he thinks he is the leader because only the leader would be able to go up to a pack of dogs and steal the prey out their mouth and eat it on a consentual basis, so you have to win the game of the sock eating with your dog because to the dog it thinks it is climbing social hierarchy by playing and winning this, but that is not true. Also leader starts and stops playtime, so by dog initiating and winning sock keepaway, he is doing that also. Dogs like to grab your socks and run off because they are basically telling you I am the pack leader by doing so (since they can't speak English dogs prove their hierarchy in battle against each other to establish who is leader the natural selection way of who is toughest)

@@LunarCherries you have to capture prey even out of other dogs mouth to prove you are leader and eat first. You must show dog you are stronger. Only after it respects you as the stronger wiser animal will it CHOOSE you to be it's leader. That is why he must race after dog in house catch pick up with arm wrapped around belly remove sock from its mouth, and ONLY THEN do you put sock in your mouth and stare dog down eyes long until he look away and submit to say HOW DARE YOU challenge me as leader. Look you are defeated FAIR AND SQUARE. No more nonsense. I am leader. You have to obey me. Then dog will understand, and it will obey you forever no problem. Walk through doors first, control direction of walk and walk in front keep dog at side (don't let run out front and lead walk or else it thinks it's pack leader). Eat first. Start and stop play time and WIN (most of time but occasionally let them win to keep them having fun but usually you win and end playtime say it's OVER you lost I am leader. They understand. That is why dog chew your socks run away play keepaway and show off to other dogs because it wants to overthrow you as leader, which you CANNOT allow.

People like me who don't like dogs and were completely surprised that none of them own cats. I didn't actually dislike the video, but I guess that might have been a reason for some people to dislike it. :-D

Huberdeau yes dogs have feelings. They understand human emotion, words, tone, and body language, in addition to speaking dog language. Dogs wag tail stick tongue out jump on you lick you invite you to pet them or belly rub when happy. When angry they show teeth growl warn u to not come any closer or else they will bite you. Cats purr when happy, but hiss and claw when angry. Even without the language u can sense their different emotions in body language. They obviously have feelings. Dogs love us, but cats do not. Dogs and humans have lived together for millennia, but cats are new and just around to kill pests and don't like or respect us, so their emotion is probably hatred of humans but dogs love us they understand pack survival and love us as leader appreciate us giving them food whereas cats are just like wow I have a human slave that feeds me. Cats always think they are pack leader. Dogs understand usually they are not pack leader, but sometimes might want to test and challenge for it. I think cats and dogs are just as intelligent as humans but are just trapped inside different bodies so they can't conquer world as good as us, but they can understand everything you say. They mostly obey but sometimes test you because they don't like being slaves. If you are respected as leader by dog they will love you above all else and obey. Cats never obey you because they think you are their slave.

Chabot, Ryan o, Ryan NH, Sean C... Dogs like FRESH MEAT! Beef, chicken, pork, are their favorite food! They also love any animal's LIVER! That is most tasteful to them and the leaders prize eaten first after every fresh kill. Dogs evolved from wolves and are CARNIVORES. They are hunters who love to eat fresh meat after a kill. If you bring home meat and cook it up hot on grill or oven or stove, the dog will LOVE the taste of fresh meat especially after it's heated up to at least body temperature. Dogs like FRESH HOT MEAT just like humans. They are not omnivores like us though. They don't eat vegetables. Only MEAT. if you want your dog to eat favorite food all the time, screw treats just feed him FRESH MEAT! He will be way happier and probably respect you more as pack leader because you establish yourself as a better Hunter/ killer who shares the rewards of hunt with dog after you're done eating which is what leader does, so I would feed dog meat. It doesn't have to be fancy. Just feed it your meat leftovers after you eat put leftover's in their bowl after. MEAT is what dogs love. They like to eat their kills FRESH just like humans so cook it up for him HOT just like you eat it.

Dogs understand everything you say. They only refuse to obey if they think they are leader, not you. You need to eat first, walk through doors first, be good pack leader. If they disobey they are challenging your authority as pack leader and trying to establish themselves as pack leader saying no I'm not your slave I don't obey you. You got it backwards. You are my slave human I am pack leader. Now feed me dog treats and walk me before I bite your hands! I will just stare at you and pretend I don't understand because I don't want to be your slave right now because you are not pack leader. You don't feed me well or give me enough play time or walks or good food and you don't bring me doggy girlfriends. You are no leader human. I sit still and stare at you to pretend I don't understand just because I don't want to obey you because I think you're bad leader and I'm trying to start a pack movement to remove you as leader. I will obey the true leader. You are not it. I am leader you obey me (jumps on table steals food eats it and when you step near him to try to take it he bites you and fends off and eats first and established himself as new pack leader). In his mind he is leader, so he is not supposed to obey you. If dog thinks you are leader they will obey. They only ignore and disobey when they think they are leader, so you all are spoiling them too much if they think they are pack leader and not obeying or responding to you. If dog respects you as pack leader it will always come when you call it and obey your every word.

Marchessault if you want dog to be happier feed it fresh hot meat in bowl and hire dog walker to walk it 5x/day and get another dog so he can have a doggy girlfriend and get baptised and married and redeemed and have babies and a nice family pack they can train and look after in their old age and live happily ever after

If the only reason to have a pet is to be loved by it, then you are quite selfish. In contrast to dog owners, cat owners don't feel the overwhelming need to be loved unconditionally.
