List each code as A-E. B tells us that 5 is not the number from A and thus not in our final combination. Which means that in C we have 1 and 7 remaining. D tells us that 8 is the final digit since 4 doesn’t appear. If the 1 doesn’t appear in the first slot it must go in the second, leaving the 7 in the first.

If u use hint b. Thinking that when they say "nothing is correct" means 0 is corrects then , The code would be 570 On A.) 5 would be first B.) "nothing is correct" 0 is correct last place C.) two numbers 5,7 they are wrong places like statement says D.) 0 is correct but out of place E.) 7 is correct but out of place This only would work if u take the b.) statement as meaning that nothing = 0

You can crack it easyer, well for me it's easyer. Reading the a) and b) voloms you can conclude thad the 5 is not an option. And from the c) you sew that you have 2 in wrong places and 1 that is not in the system. So if you need to find just the last one and put them in places. You continue to read and come to d) 1 number but not in place, so you return to a) and see that you only have 8 that match, so it must be 8 as the last number. So from a) you conclude that 8 is in the 3. spot and you just look at the b) and see that 7 can't be last and 1 first or last becouse 8 is last. So 1 is second and that leaves 7 on the first place.

I looked for a Combination of a and b to The start. I saw, that The correct number of A can't be The 5, because it is defined as wrong in B. It can't be The 4 either, because in E, it says "correct, but wrong place" - The 4 is on The Same Spots in A + E. So The Last Number was an 8 - for Sure. Then, I concentrated on C. It says, 2 Numbers are correct, which had to be 1 & 7 - 5 is defined as wrong. I understood C's Text as "both are in wrong place", and The only way to fix in both after moving was putting The 7 as first and 1 as middle Number. So I knew, it had to be 718. This Took me about 10 Seconds, maybe less.

It's actually deducible in the first 4 lines, because we know 8 is one of the correct numbers, correctly placed too. That does not change. Since, 5 is not a correct number and 2 numbers are correct but not in the right place. Since we can remove 5 from the third line. If we compare the first line with the third, with no 5 it just leaves 1 and 7. These 2 numbers are correct but not placed in the right slot. To eliminate 4 as a correct number, by looking at lines 3 and 4, you can tell that 0 is not a viable option and 6 does not appear in the first line but is said that one is correct but in the wrong place. But the number that appears in 4 and 1 lines is 8. It is in a different place because it's correct place is the third slot, 6 does not appear in lines 1 or 3 so it cannot be correct. Hence, now we confirmed 8 is correct the rest falls into place. We at least know by this point the numbers that are needed are 718. And because we know 8 is correct and in the right place, we have only the two first slots remaining, but 1 occupying slot 1 is incorrect and it cannot go into slot 3 because 8 has already been confirmed to be correctly placed in that slot. Hence, the only other remaining slot is slot 2, leaving 7 for slot 1. Hence we are left with 718.

Can be solved without even reading statement e. You know from a) b) and c) that the 3 numbers are 1, 7 and (4 or 8). Then d) tells you that 8 is in the puzzle. You know from a) that 8 is the third digit which means 1 cannot be the third digit, c) tells you that 1 is not the first digit so 1 must be the second digit leaving 7 to be the first digit

I was kinda confused at first, when reading I thought that line only counted for that row of numbers. Also I think it would be better to wait and see what people answer in the comments before giving away the answer because you know you can’t really trust people just cause they said they completed the test in under 90seconds. It takes about 7-10 seconds to read all the lines,(and I read fast)and then about 5-15 seconds to solve the problem(If you’re a genius of course). So the fastest anyone can possibly do this problem is 12seconds.

In clue c) if 1 and 7 are correct but both in the wrong place then the only possibility for the position of 1 is for it to be in the middle slot. 8 has already taken up the last slot so this leaves the 1st and middle slot left and 1 is already in the 1st slot however is said to be in the Incorrect place so the only slot it could fit into is the middle slot

Edit: I used to play this game called Pico Fermi Bagel with my classmates and I was the best person at it and this is like it. But you guess the number and the leader of the game gives you the hint. Also the guesses can’t have two adjacent digits consecutive and no two digits can be the same.

This only took a few seconds, though it was lucky that I looked at it correctly. From the first line it was obvious a 4 or 8 was required, like B said 5 was not an answer, line C said 1 & 7 must be answers and therefore D says 8 must be an answer. Only these four lines are required to solve and so reading straight through I think it took about 15 seconds to catch on

OH MY HOLY SWEET MOTHER OF JESUS, I'M CORRECT AND COMPLETED THE CODE IN 55 SECONDS, I HAD TO MAKE A 50 SECOND FAST FORWARD SO THAT I'D KNOW THE ANSWER. This is the key, when in the first set of numbers 1 number was was correct and well placed, lwt's suppose 8's the number. Inthe second one, nothing was correct, proving that 5 was wrong as well as 3, 4, and 0. In the third one, two numbers were correct, which are 7 and 1, because 5 is already incorrect. But it said that the places were wrong, so 7 and 1 should switch places, but 8 was said to have been in the correct position, so 7 should be in the first spot, 1 in the second, and 8 in the last. That's all I read to figure out the question.

The last row is unnecessary. One you reason that there can't be a five and the 8 is in the last slot, you know the 1 has to be in a different spot, so it moves to the center, and the only spot left for the 7 is the first one.
