For musicianship, its Lovebites. For singing, its BabyMetal. Lovebites comes in 2nd for singing. I also like Garcharic Spin and Nemophila.

I recommend 2 bands which other people may not mention. Those are Versailles and Yosei Teikoku. They are symphonic gothic metal bands with high skills, and great songs.

Band-Maid is my #1 by far, but Trident has become one of my favorites this year. Sokininaru is ok for what I have listend to. I just can't seem to get into Nemophila any time I try to listen the vocals just are not it for me. Have not tried the others yet. My under the radar recs if you have not heard of them are Hagane and Gordon.

My only worry is that its getting a little overwhelming, lol😧 but I'd really like to recommend Hitsujibungaku : More Than Words - there are three versions available on their site / KZfaq - released just a few weeks ago..even I missed it cuz i was so obsessed with Band Maid stuff..but please check it out and all their tracks - its not the heaviest out there but they're sooo good! ❤🤘💥

Hi VG. Oral Cigarette is a male band so more popular than the female bands and I think they are more of a pop-rock group than hard-rock or metal so I don't choose them. All other bands are. And Asterism, don’t you like it?🤔

I just discovered some other bands which begins their adventure in metal this year and looks amazing so far PaleNeØ : they started with two covers of BAND-MAID and one of Aldious and they have now two singles East of Eden : they are using a violin in their songs and it's really give something epic ステミレイツ - STMLT : i'm not expecting a lot in the future for this one because i don't know what to think about the biggest part of their videos on YT... Their saxophonist have been expelled from the band because of some contract thing i don't know but it looks great for the 5 first songs.

My favorite japanese bands are Hanabie, BRATS, Babymetal, Bridear, XTEEN, Gacharic Spin, Broken by The Scream and Nemophila. I know other bands and idol groups like Passcode, Necronomidol, BiSH, etc, but those 8 are my favorite.

Let me recommend some to you. Nemophila, Aldious and Lovebites, for the 4th Bridear is the only choice to me. These are the female, Japanese equivalent of the US Metal's Big 3 (Metallica, Slayer and Megadeth and Anthrax would make 4). Mary's Blood is no longer together but deserve a spot on any list of Japanese hard rock bands then there is Hanabie which of off the chain with regard to talent and originality! To keep with the hard rock/metal genre I'd start with Yousei Teikoku then Lyricholic Kagekidan or any of their previous incarnations, Ancient Myth, Gilty Gilty, The Devil's Killing Merry Go Round and Diablevoix but let me not forget Unlucky Morpheus. I'll stop here because I could go on but after a listen just to the top 4 I posted here you will realize those 4 alone are better than most of the bands you chose, then there is ArkRoyal, Lonesome_Blue, East Of Eden, Show-Ya, SAISEIGA, Hades, Albiongarden, PaleNeØ, Fate Gear, existNET, 鬱ギ乃, VALKYRIE ZERO, Sokoninaru, マーキュロ オフィシャル, カサノヴァ, not to mention Korean bands like Rolling Quartz... Dive on in, the rabbit hole is deep and there is a truckload of great music to be discovered! Let me point you in thee right direction, you can thank me later.
