Old, Alone and Far From Home

Old, Alone and Far From Home

Located in the Central Highlands of Mexico, some say that Guanajuato is the country's most beautiful city. Not having seen them all, I can't make that judgement, but it is a spectacular place.
I spent one night in Guanajuato and had just a matter of hours to see what it has to offer. I made the best of it, visiting the basilica in the main plaza, the Museum of the Mummies and the unique tunnels under the city. I also rode the funicular to capture what is undoubtedly the most magnificent view of the multi-colored buildings of the town.
Take a few moments to discover Guanajuato with me.

Having retired in 2023, I now travel full-time, seeing places all around the world. My idea for KZfaq is to make the videos more about the places and people along the way, than about me. I hope that the experience for you is both entertaining and educational. Perhaps you will come away from my channel with ideas about places you would like to visit or be inspired to forge your own way.
I travel slowly, spending four or five weeks in each destination. Hopefully, that will allow me to go beyond the surface to find the essence of each location. By the end of 2024, I will have visited 14 countries and five of the seven continents. Come along for the journey!

We loved Guanajuato! We also went to Diego Rivera’s house, which is now a museum. There was also a beautiful municipal building in the middle of the town. We skipped the mummy museum. That is not for me. Where are you off to next? Happy travels.

There is plenty to love about the place! The Mummy Museum is certainly not for everyone! My next video will be about my visit to Bernal, one of the Pueblos Mágicos. It's a really cool spot. Thank you for watching!

Thank you very much! I did work in TV for decades. I did news, features and then for the final five years of my career, I did stories at a university.
