I love when my books look old, and used. It just shows how much I loved them, and read them. My favorite books are all damaged, but I love them so much like this!

I used to toggle back and forth between not caring and then caring about how my books looked. Some have some serious wear and tear because I used to bring them EVERYWHERE when I was a student. Some are annotated. Some look like they've never been touched. ❤

Omg I do this to all of my books. Even books I check out thru library 📚 lol. I adore this hack and it works for me every time , never crack a spine and easier to read yay!

oh, my goodness! that's how you don't crack the spine? I have cracked so many spines while reading paperback books. But then again I am an aggressive reader, I'm pretty sure it runs in the family

I would be sooo scared for the spine. If I read mine I barely open it as well, protect the book at all costs 🫣😂

This is me too! But doing this helps loosen the spine so it’s easier to read without cracking :) just gotta be careful when you do it!

Eh, my books aren't collectables and i have a ton of beaten up books from used book stores. They usually come back with much worse than a cracked spine after ive loaned it to my mom or a friend too lmao.

@jaimefok I used to be, but I realized I don't actually mind when books show their reader history, so long as it doesn't affect their readability. Maybe it comes with age, or it's different when you're posting the collection on social media idk. 😅

I did this and it didnt work 😭 obviously i mustve done it wrong but i was so excited to see if it worked i opened my book really quickly and it cracked the spine. I dont have much of an issue with cracked spines but damn it was a shock

Oh no!! Yeah it’s not foolproof but definitely warms the book up a bit so it protects the spine more than usual.

I think with some books it just won't work. :( Some are binded cheaply, or once they get to a certain number of pages, it's too thick.

@@jaimefok Oh, I don’t might other people’s books being cracked, but when they have them all lined up, ergh. That stuff makes me want to be sick. You can have cracked books, but don’t line them all up. My books cannot be cracked, though.
