hey all - we are the two indie devs behind this game! thank you so much for the support! we have a lot planned for it and again, we truly appreciate your support and will listen to player feedback during early access. there are/will be some rough edges and bugs in early access, but we will do our best to iron them out. I have MAD respect for you Ryan for completing the game and i have MAD respect for the devs for creating probably one of the most scariest games i have ever seen. This game is scary beyond imagination to the point i was hiding my face with my whole arm just from watching, imagine how would you feel if you actually play it. The atmosphere, the sounds and the realism are just outstanding

I made it through this playthrough without screaming once, and i didn't cover my eyes with anything. It was really damn hard, especially with those things that looked like a sweethome zombie. I'm kinda proud of myself for not screaming.

Lol ManlyBadassHero made it through very easy. I don’t know what he did but he just wandered off into the forest and it was just scare after scare so it got old really fast. Became a walking simulator after a few minutes

This game has SO many cheap jumpscares, but the ambience and quality really make up for that a LOT. One of the scariest atmospheres I have EVER seen.

to me the cheap jumpscares actually add to the gameplay. they make it harder to not scream, and since there's no obvious trigger for them, there's no way of preparing yourself for the next one.

And the “don’t scream” aspect can actually be related to a movie experiment in which two groups watched the same movie. Group 1 was allowed to laugh, cry, and express any emotion they had in the theatre. Group 2 was only allowed a straight face. Group 2 ended up having a worse time than group 1.

@@murasaki3067 it's not about whether i found the game scary or not. to me, it wasn't really different to any other free-roam horror game other than the repeated jumpscares and the "don't scream" gimmick. my comment was about how the jumpscares make it harder not to scream/gasp.

What I like about this game is the concept and how it stands out from all the other games that have been coming out these days. My only complaint alongside others is replayability and game time. Once you play it a couple of times you know the places of scares and the run time isn't helping the case either. Otherwise though this game is such a breath of fresh air and I loved it when I played it

I feel like if you really wanna do a jumpscare heavy game this is a good way to do it because there's actually a reason for the jumpscares. Like there's sorta consequences for reacting to them and that's the whole premise. It's really cool! Rather than just throwing them in for the sake of getting a cheap scare

Holy smokes, well done!! This game is super super creepy; the sound design and level/set/map design are SUPER well done! Very unsettling. I think it'd be really cool if you did another playthrough or two of this game, exploring some of the other spots and finding new locations.

The pick up on the mic definitely seems insane for this game. I watched IGP play this the other day and just him taking a sharp breath caused him to game over. Edit: In terms of how much you explored if you see this Ryan, You definitely found a lot more content than IGP did. I think in the beginning of his video he talked about how much of it was randomly generated. I can't remember if the map itself had some amount of random generation but if there is than you definitely got lucky and I would assume finding everything would probably take at least a couple different playthroughs. If the map isn't randomly generated then I'm sure someone will upload a map with all the points of interest before long.

What a game! This really is such a unique and interesting game! The setting, mystery and lack of background information really sparks us to imagine what a terrifying world there COULD be out there. The darkness adds to it even more. The game developers are so smart to effectively test and show how the human brain always tries to fill in gaps of any unknown thing or information. Every scary area and jumpscare ends in no danger but we as humans expect something much worse which causes us to SCREAM! Just what a beautiful game!

For some people who think that it's cheating to lower the mic for your voice (especially when the game is called Don't Scream), I encourage you to play for yourself first. Ryan may have reduced it afew times for his comfortability. That's the way it is. I actually like the fact that he still talks throughout the game because it gives me a sense of comfort.

I saw THE MOST in your video than all the others i watched...the cemetary, the shadow ppl, everything that ran past you from behind, the flying ppl, the spinning lady, THE BOAT! It really was awesome.... I would love to see someone wander the whole map for like 3 times....cause this game looks so cool to just wander thro. Its interesting how sometimes jump-scares happen for other ppl and not you, and thats cool, cause it changes it up.... Anyway, great job!❤
