If your dog is attacked by another dog. What should you do?

If a fight scenario happens which is unfortunate, ie. A dog off lead runs up to your dog and initiated a fight.
Do NOT give out to your dog if another dog attacks it.
Let your dog fight and defend itself.
Don't praise the fighting.
After the fight you need the dogs brain to change focus from fighting.
Give your dog a simple command like SIT and when the dog correctly carries out the command, then PRAISE your dog.
This method has worked for me when I've used it with my own dogs.
The quicker you de escalate a fight situation and command the dog or dogs to do something else the quicker you can get it under control.

I thought this would be enlightening ...and would advise as how to act when a dog thats almost going to eat your dog.

Hi robin. Basically it's about what's going on in your dogs brain at the moment of attack from another dog. If your dog can hold it's own then let him defend himself. Don't conflict or confuse the dog

I'ts not worth the dogs getting injured or the vet bills, assertive leadership with your dog is all it needs.as the owner should be the pack leader to choose ...leadership is required is what a dog feels secure with .@@TropicalJungleIreland

Are you for real, Yes let your dog fight if it is attacked and wants to defend itself but just because a dog approaches your dog and a fight breaks out those not mean that the dog that approached is the aggressor. So learn a little more about dominant behaviour in dogs. As for telling them to sit after a fight and assuming the dog knows the difference between getting praised for sitting rather than fighting, you are off your head. A dog's IQ is in the regions, at best a 2-year-old child. So don't make that stupid mistake or worse tell other dog owners to learn from you.

I assumed the hypothetical scenario was when your dog is well behaved and is attacked. Idk why you'd assume otherwise. The guy is crystal clear
