Great day out. Great fun. Lots of different species, which is what makes Western Port great. Never launched at Flinders. Might have to give it a go.

How long have you been using the Minn Kota Talon? Has it held up well in the saltwater? I had a 10' Power Pole on my previous skiff but recently purchased a 24' bay boat, I really prefer the Talons over the Power Pole due to being lower on the stern for trolling and they anchor deeper but see very few reviews from people using Talons in the salt.

Nice video. Can you tell me what you use for your audio? I would guess some type of external lav microphones? yes? Thanks for your help - still working out my audio bugs for my YT channel.

Yes mate, we use Sony's. Hot tip though - they don't like salt water ;)

Whats the thing sticking up in the air next to the outboard motor?
@ifishtv4 жыл бұрын
That's a Minn Kota "Talon" Dan, it's a 20 foot aluminium pole with a carbon fiber tip - it's to anchor your boat in shallow water with absolute silence. Sounds weird but trust me - super effective!

@@ifishtv Just looked them up. Amazing technology these days. Love your work :)

What size boat do you think you could launch at Flinders???
@ifishtv5 жыл бұрын
It really depends on the tide and wind and your personal skills/confidence Lindsay, Baby Stabi is a 2050 and launched easy.

@@ifishtv Many thanks. Will def go and have a look. Is a good excuse to hunt for the winter whiting.

I caught a squid with nothing but my hands ones that’s when I found out they have a tooth haha and yes they draw blood

That's epic! Their tooth (also known as their "beak" ) can do some serious damage!
@jakeslawnmowing77334 жыл бұрын
Haha it wasn’t as big as them I was fishing of the shore and it swam straight in front of me so I picked it up and it wrapped it’s tentacles around my fingers and i felt it bite my dad thought it was hilarious 😂

those are the smallest salmon i have ever seen. Even the big one you got was tiny compared to the ones we catch in WA

@@samuel888_j6 cheek out my facebook account dickhead my profile picture is me holding a 9kg salmon. Spelt the same way it is on youtube
@chepachii5 жыл бұрын
Rylee Vulich the Salmon you get in WA are the big mature spawners.The western subspecies.They spawn off the south west coast of WA ,then the planktonic fry drift east on the current,and develop in the waters off south australia ,victoria ,and western tasmania.Eventually heading back to WA to spawn once mature, completing the cycle.WA is the only state that nets the schools,the commercials net mature spawners and they get used for cray bait and cat food.
