Greetings from a wonderful Kazakhstan Almaty day,
This is my second video I shot in Central Asia after a long journey. After resting for a long time, it is really good for me to wander around Kazakhstan in a quieter place. Although the weather is hot, it is not as stifling as the Middle East. Kazakhstan is one of the largest countries in the world in terms of surface area. But it doesn't look that big on the map.
The reason for this is related to the fact that in 1569 the Flemish cartographer Gerardus Mercator created the Mercator Projection for this purpose. This map, which was developed due to the fact that maritime was very common at that time, was accepted in those years. And it is still used today.
Our main topic today is to wander around the Green Market. Almost nobody speaks Turkish in Yeşil Pazar. I might be surprised if you don't know Turkish. This is a big food market. As it is known, horse meat consumption is quite common in Kazakhstan. It is possible to find all kinds of meat in the stalls. I come across a Meskhetian Turk in the deli section. And I learn that there are many Meskhetian Turks living in Almaty.
I hope you enjoy the market trip. Enjoy watching.
