Im a Swiatek fan but at 4-1 on 3rd set I thought it was over but quickly the score turned 4-4 and I was sure Swiatek would win 6-4 because Collins wouldn’t handle the pressure to serve in a game of all break points meaning match points.

despite being down in the first and the third, she did not give up. the third set kind of reminded me of the RG 2023 final. my heart sank several times during the match, but she did find a way, what an effort. very well done!

Match of the tournament

I have to say that Collins team and her tactic and playing wasn’t fair play at all. Shouting from her team “ Go on at her “ “You got her” and so on it was a little bit disrespectful. Also delaying of Collins when Swiatek started serving at each game was pretty shitty move.

This is my analysis of the match. When Danielle was serving at 5-1 I the second set and gave away 4 set points (three in a row) and had 4 double faults. I honestly think Iga saw that and thought she could come back in this match even if she loses the second set and found herself down in the 3rd set. Also Danielle doesn't have a powerful first serve (which I'm actually surprised at) I felt that Iga thought once she could just get a game back, get a break back she could easily get back into this because Danielle's seve honestly fell off a cliff. Iga saw that, and played smart tennis to get back into the match. Also, I think Iga winning those 2 additional games I the second set to lose 3-6 instead of 1-6 allowed her to get some confidence back into her game and told her this wasn't over despite the fact she was playing poorly. Massive choke job by Danielle though, so reminiscent of Madison Keys in the US Open semi finals against Sabalenka when she was up 6-0 and 5-2 and was serving for the match and eventually lost the last 2 sets of tie breakers. It just shows you the mental strength that being a champion affords you. Any other player other than a grand slam winner would have lost that match today, but Iga showed her true greatness (and I'm not even an Iga fan, I support Coco and Rybakina) but I have to give credit where credit is due. Bravo to Iga, you truly have the heart of a champion.

It was like the best Hitchcock movie: an earthquake at the beginning and the tension continued to build for over three hours until the completely unexpected ending. When the score was 1:4 in the third set for Danielle, probably only a few people in the world believed in Iga's victory. Even AI predictor changed it's mechanical mind and shamelessly bent on Collins' side. And suddenly, surprise! The phoenix rose from the ashes, although the match was not decided until the last ball.

Incredible match. It felt like a final. In a way it was since Collins announced her retirement next year, so that was her last AO match ever.. But what a performance from both players. Insane shots, incredible come back by Iga, Hats off to the champion. With Rybakina gone, there is only one more player on the way to stop Iga in her track-hopefully not this time- her Nemesis- Ostapenko. I reckon, if Penko is out, Iga should be able to reach the final this time round, and with a bit of luck, win it all.

I have the impression that Iga was moved by the behavior of the opposing team, which, together with the player, used vulgar expressions that directly affected Iga. It is possible that Iga took severe revenge on the hypocritical Americans, giving them hope that she would not be able to cope with it. The last 5 games of the third set are a clear sign of Iga, disgusted by their behavior. The look on Collins' face after the game says it all. It's a pity that for some people tennis is like a wrestling competition, where all tricks are allowed.
