Swiatek is amazing. I love her forehand and backhand mechanics. She is very aggressive too.

Swiatek is like Djokovic in defense with split steps reaching for the ball and hitting it back unbelievably. That’s what made the difference in this match. That’s also what made Djokovic a special player.

This was an exceptional match by both. Kanepi played lights out tennis for a set and a half but so happy to see iga respond especially in the breaker as well as fight tooth and nail all the way. Three hours in this heat?? Damn.

I watched Kanepi play at the court before. Kanepi is the one of top solid players with power and speed. She need more stronger mentality whenever play against top players. She lost in mentality. Incredibly played well both players. Iga played amazingly good defense with high lobbying mixed with fast backhand stroke on the corner good job mentally strong fighter…

Wild match point. I would love to see a Swiatek Barty final because although Iga winning the F.O. was a great achievement - many of the top 10 weren’t there due to the pandemic - including Barty.

@Young Young I don’t think Swiatek is quite at her best level so far this A.O. I’m guessing Barty - she is just too skilled and crafty.

Iga - I'm super happy you won but you will give me a heart attack sooner or later. You were really lucky girl and you know it! Kaia helped you a lot in 2nd and 3rd set. You played sloppy game today. Again, non-existing 1st serve and 12 double faults! -> NCH:). US ESPN commentators summarized one of your game as "terrible". They also pointed out weak tactics: you played too many balls in the middle (especially in first set) and Kaia took advantage of it. When you tried to play side to side, Kaia had no chance. They also mentioned that not having enough rackets with correct tension in QF is simply not acceptable, this is clear Team Swiatek mess-up.

It was impossible to watch Swiatek's straggle. So many waisted conversions. She can do much better.

I like Swiatek but i think she is a headcase... she almost cried at the end... she wants it too bad and that will bring fear and make u choke... need to take it easy and have fun and then u will prosper... mena look at Barty - she is cool calm - ok if wins ok if looses but guess what that brings fun calmness and u end up winning more (ofcourse u have to be skilled which Swiatek is).... neways she really needs to get her head in a better place... she has skills, youth, body but needs to get her head and her thoughts in a better place.

@@brcvlh i know but the big champs were all winning big in high teens... i don't mind even if she doesn't win but she seems to get so frustrated from her not winning that its making her more nervous and play even worse.. would prefer if she doesn't care about winning and just have fun and play.. but she beats herself up over loosing.. sad to see.. but i have to say at end of Collins match she reacted well.. wasn't so down and that was good to see

@@hen9852 i meant from watching her for over 2 yrs.. she is just not confident and seems to have doubt and gets cranky once she starts loosing... maybe she puts winning to high up in her needs... should just have fun and play .. if u win u win, if u loose u loose.. look at Cornet and Collins they peaked way later and u didn't see them so frustrated.. and IGa has a grand slam already

@@vojtasjedyny Of course. But she was trying to be more aggressive. It will take time, but she is on the right track. She can't play passively or with too much defense on medium fast to fast hardcourts

Iga is so emotional that's ok if you use it to keep fighting in losing positions but sometimes it can screw you today she was into both situations. There's nothing much to say about Kanepi she started in pro-tennis when I was 5 years old and Iga wasn't even born what can I say?! She played her game few players at that age could stand for 3 hours against against a 20 years old.

The new coach of IGA chose a path and a way to play terrible for Iga. He made the IGA slow, fearful and indeciseve. IGA is fire! It is passion. This new coach made IGA an ordinary player with flaws that she didn't have before. She didn't commit so many double faults. Swiatek is big! Iga needs to get rid of this coach urgently. They shouldn't have scheduled this game for this time with the hot sun. It hurt the game and the IGA. They favored Barty.

Kanepi let this one slip away. Iga played well enough when it mattered, but she's starting to get on my nerves. When things don't go her way, Iga starts to get bratty & throws her hands up in the air with a pouty face like everything is supposed to be handed to her on a silver platter. Will definitely be rooting for Collins to attack those weak 2nd serves in the semis.

@@KH-sn2sj I think the sabalenka loss in Mexico made her realize her game needed to improve especially on flattening shots out in hardcourt matches against top players. It will take time, but is definitely a source of frustration for her. It's a process but she was able to do it at key moments. She is vulnerable to the slice backhand though and needs to be aware of that as well

It is not a beauty contest you know. Kaia is not so much a technical player but she hit the ball very hard. Iga still struggles against such opponents as she also prefers to play topspin and there is not so much opportunities here.
