It seems to me that Iga has employed a distinct tactic for each individual opponent when necessary, especially since the China Open. Her game is too consistent and solid for some players, such as Gauff, so she does not have to dig deeper than necessary for some match-ups. But against players like Sabalenka or Samsonova, she does not try to outhit them, she simply waits for them to make the mistakes and implode on their own. I cannot wait for the Australian Open to begin, it will be great to see her problem-solve against new and regular opponents. I have come to enjoy watching her matches more with each day.

Sabalenka has so much points to defend next year. 2000 from AusOpen and all the SF points from the other slams, and other more. So even if she wins this match and stays in the number 1, I dont think she can win back to back in Australia. This loss is somewhat better for her to remove that pressure before next season starts. For Iga, she is indeed the best player in WTA right now regardless of her rank (at the momemnt). I can’t see Jess upsetting Iga in tomorrow’s final. Iga all the way!

After watching the final vs Pegula, I must conclude that Iga vs Saba match was a true final. Much more interesting match thanks to Saba's qualities. I know Pegula seems to be a more rounded player but she was completely shut by Iga whilst Saba was still fighting until the very end.

Swiatek has played great at the WTA Finals and Beijing Masters. Her best tennis since winning FO 2023 in early June. Hope she wins against Pegula in the final, clinched her first WTA Finals and another year-end No. 1 ranking.

As a Pole I root for 1GA. Didn"t like Saba for a long time, always painful to listen to her screams but after today when I watched how she congratulated 1GA right after the match and also openly admitted at the press conference that 1GA had amazing flow - I suddenly realised that it's utterly stupid to not like this or that player just because they are not your favourite or your idol's greatest opponents... So stupid. In the end they are all amazing players, with competitive spirits - which is not common, and each one with a unique style, each one bringing some great aspect of the game to the table and all are there to create emotional rollercoasters to our enjoyment and for the glory. So I change my mind - I do like all of them - if only they behave with style. I just don't like cocky, overconfident and disrespectful players because in the end it's not a matter of life and death, it's just a sport, entertainment, so if you are the elite and still have a healthy distance it is pure class and sth I admire greately. I like to watch them give everything on a court and after a match go to a net, thank and congrat each other, say some warm words at the presser about the opponent, give some interesting insights about a given match and move on the next one. In such case all players are one big team, family, representing with an honour their type of sport and I love it. And remember - nobody can win forever if you are not Joker Nole...

What a sensational encounter in the semi-final! Iga has definitely demonstrated a more robust, unflinching and gallant performance than Sabalenka at each point. The dictation in the long rallies was really top-flight. Polish tennis player had a vast superiority despite the hardship of this match. She was aware of the situation and basically taking the crucial precautions against such an offensive tennis player. Aryna sought be efficient from time to time but it was never sufficient to dispatch Swiateh in this demanding appearance. The level of Iga was far more different throughout the whole tournament. Many congrats to my first favorite female tennis competitor! JAZDAAA!

Wow, when I see back in the US open so many people who buried Iga Swiatek, she crushed her main contenders, Gauff and Sabalenka will have to wait.
