Iga Swiatek secures back-to-back WTA 1000 titles!

Iga Swiatek is the most brilliant, polite, humble, genius and sweetest player in the WTA. She deserves to be where she is. Big girl! Only 20 years and two WTA 1000 in the same month. Bravo Iga. We love you! The wind got in the way a lot. Congratulations to Sakkari for everything he has done too.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, Iga is a future legend. It's been a long time since I've seen a young WTA player so talented and hardworking, and yet so humble and intuitive. I'm grateful to be able to watch her play.

So much difference in Iga's mentality. Winning RG2020 showed her talent and potential, but she wasn't mentally ready for a huge success. Later, we witnessed quite a few breakdowns when she was losing. I remember after one of the lost game against Sakkari she just broke in tears and Maria had to hug her. And most of the time when she lost the first set she rarely came back. On Indian Wells we've seen different Iga, since she changed her coach she got mentally stronger, she had couple of games when she lost first set and successfully came back in great style. She doesn't give up, fights till the end. Hope she keeps this form up

WTA is in such a great state right now. Swiatek, Sakkari, Kontaveit, Badosa, Jabeur, Krejcikova, Barty… so competitive, so fierce and so dynamic. And one thing I love the most is that their sportsmanship is amazing. You can tell how they’re all hungry for victories and yet they enjoy each other’s company and they have a lot of respect for each other.

So much to love here. Two Masters 1000 victories in a month and playing at the best level I've seen since the 2020 French Open. Sakkari beat her in their first 3 meetings, but Iga has won the last 2. Swiatek will be very tough in the French this year if she keeps this up. Realizing all the potential we've seen in her at such a young age. Congrats!

Not the ideal F in dealing with the difficult wind conditions early on but Iga rose to the challenge and thoroughly dominated the second set with well executed fearless ball striking. Her new team has apparently had a positive impact in bringing out her best. Should her idol Rafa follow suit again today (as the two RG Champs of 2020) it would make it extra special/memorable🏆

Both were very nervous , and the wind made it worse, but Iga was more focus and determined after 4-4. I think Maria got excited more than she should after her semi final victory vs Badosa and never really believed she could win a big trophy for the first time, despite the 3-1 head to head with Iga until final. As a greek i really wanted Maria to win, but reaching no3 its a huge achievement as well and the best is yet to come.
