For Q7, I understand the answer is A but just a conceptual confusion. Doesn't graphite have layered structure? The carbon atoms do form layers

It’s true graphite has layered structure but the option says “both have layered structures” which isn’t true because diamond doesn’t have layered structure.

yes, graphite has a giant covalent structure which is layered. but that's not the case with diamond that's why that option is incorrect

hello miss in Q24 isnt sodium hydroxide also soluble why is A the answer and not B?

The answer is A since aq barium chloride (soluble) reacts with sulfuric acid to produce barium sulfate (insoluble). The question asks for an insoluble salt which can be collected as residue by filtration. It’s not B because even though sodium hydroxide is soluble, the salt sodium sulfate is also soluble and the questions wants to produce an insoluble salt.

@@radiafarhan3267It would be if the substance was just a metal, but if it is a molten ionic compound the free particles which are responsible for carrying the charges are the ions only. And if you say they are the electrons, from where exactly they come from?

@@user-iz2vd7zd7p when molten, ions will be free to move. you're right, ions is more appropriate. my bad. perhaps she wanted to say that when ions are free to move, the one with more electrons becomes negative while the other is positive.
