you will have to add the background count back if they ask the count rate detected from the detector (correct me if im wrong)

thank you so much for your videos! you're literally saving my butt in these science exams. however, i just wanted to point out q16. in the mark scheme, it says that the answer is C and not A.

18:12 Hi Ms for question 26, may I know how you get the answer R/4 ? Because R/2 + R/2 = R, right?

For instance if the resistance is 8 ohm, it becomes half giving you 4ohms. And when the length is reduced by half the resistance is reduced by half again giving u 2ohms. In total the resistance has reduced 4 times smaller. That’s what I meant by R/2 twice.

yes! but it won't cause the lamp to switch on. instead it'll switch off as there's not enough heat being produced to be able to turn the lamp on. so, the answer is d.

This goes under algebra, Maths. Solving the unknown in an equation. Bring power input to the left side of the equal symbol and 30 to the right side

because in thermistors, when the temperature increases, the resistance decreases, so this will produce a higher potential difference across the resistor and it will close the switch, hope this helps!

@@User19-uu4dh you’re welcome! nope, when the temperature increases in thermistor, the resistance will decrease. and when the temperature decreases, resistance increases. they are inversely proportional to each other

why didn’t you add 20 cpm after in question 36? I did the same steps but then added 20 cpm and got D. How am i supposed to know when to add the background radiation after calculating and when to not? 24:40

The question asked for the count rate of the source after 8 days, not the detector reading. If they had asked for the reading on the detector after 8 days then you can add the background radiation (which would have been 110)

@@Kingdavid_3 good luck !! I heard from a student question on ions came out. So make you know when positive ion, the donate electrons. And negative ions they gain electrons. Idk the rest 😂 it was the only one shared to me
