Looks like Iggy ate a BIC pen before they shot this. Great song. Great video too. Saw him a few years ago with Josh Homme on guitar. Incredible set. Couldn't believe the intensity Iggy still had at his age. He's the real thing.

My introduction to Iggy Pop: I was stationed at Sheppard AFB. I went into town at a music shop and they were playing this album. I bought it right away. And have collected his albums ever since.

In 1980, I rang Iggy up for some rekkids at Briarwood Mall in Ann Arbor...asked and got his sig which I still have today...been a fan before and ever since.

I had a friend who had FUNHOUSE on CD and I would play it every time I went to his house, eventually he said "dude, play something else" but it was the best disc he had in his collection

Excellent description, "peels paint off the wall." Certainly appropriate! I saw him twice. Once on the blah blah blah tour, (not my favorite record) where he opened for the Pretenders, and once with the Stooges reunion. Both were great, but the Stooges show was unbelievable! Best shows I ever saw too.

Saw Iggy back around early 2000's I think it was. Anyway, standing there bellied up against the front of the stage he comes romping out, arms flailing. Talk about energy, the place went nuts. As some others have pointed out, "peeled the paint off the walls". Awesome performer.

i saw him in San Francisco in the 2000's. He threw the microphone stand into the wall during the first song! The tech people were like freaked out because he broke like a $300 mic stand--during the first song!! Everyone in the crowd was cracking up!

I like the set. It makes him seem pent up, especially since he has to hold back so he won't tear through the plastic. And it gives no frame of reference to be able to tell how short or tall he really is.

Story of my life! My first Iggy album was "T.V. Eye Live '77," a cut out bin find recommended by a friend (I later dated his sister w/o his permission - ya makes ya choices in life!). Well, that's all it took. "New Values" changed my life. Been an Iggy fan ever since!

Anyone here remember Iggy's father, Mr. Osterberg? ...He taught at Fordson High (Dearborn, MI) in the early 70's...Even though I never had him as a teacher, I remember him!

I lived in metro Detroit most of my life. I didn't move to Dearborn til 2005 & used to pass that school on my way to Detroit for my GGJ. I remember Iggy from the Grande. My friends & I tried to go every time he & the stooges played there.
