I love Sly Cooper, Ratchet and Clank, and Jak and Daxter. They're literally all incredible.

Jak and Daxter and Ratchet and Clank are equally great. None is better than the other. And Sly is really good too. Why compare? Just get them all.

Why did most of you come here just to complain and say ratchet and Clank is better?!. If you like ratchet and clank better that's perfectly fine. But this is the JAK AND DAXTER COLLECTION review. NOT ratchet and clank or sly. All 3 of the collections are great, with my personal favorites being Jak and Sly. They are all awesome, and all only for playstation so we're lucky to even have them.

I had all 3 on my PS2, absolutely loved it. I got rid of my PS2 without thinking when I got the 3. Realized I screwed up and I could never play the Jack games again, I actually forgot the story by now so realizing that it's on the 3 is so awesome!

jak 3 was probably the best, the sheer amount of content in that game was just amazing and so ahead of its time. If it was released now it would be pretty standard

For Jak 4, They need to bring back Keira as an important character. Like in Lost Frontier. That game was amazing..

Naughty dog is the one reason that I sometimes wish I went ps3. I mean, I love halo and that stuff but I do sometimes wish I could play games like this and uncharted. When I had a ps2 though these games were awesome.

The precursor legacy was my favorite. It felt more like an adventure and had so much stuff to collect. I just love colecting stuff. Yes, of course Jak 2 and 3 were more epic and badass in a story, and adding guns, and Dark and Light jak, but... I still love the first one more.

Jak 2 was my start. I geeked when I saw precursor legends in a yard sell for 2 dollars! Got jak 3 and absolutely loved it the best! Jak x was depressing. But lost frontier was stunning and awesome.

I just bought this trilogy for my PS3 today. I grew up with a Super Nintendo and a PS1. My first games were "Aladdin," "The Lion King," "Super Mario World," "The Legend of Zelda - A Link To The Past," and "Crash Bandicoot." I adore all of these games, especially Crash Bandicoot. That being said, I heard about the Jak and Dexter games in my teenage years, but I haven't gotten around to playing it until now as a wife and mom. I am very impressed with how fun the first game is, and I look forward to beating them all in order. I have a soft spot for games like this. (And yes, I've played the first "Sly Cooper," which I loved as well, but I haven't gotten around to "Ratchet and Clank.")

If you were one of those people who kept hearing about this series but never played it(like me), then do yourself a favor and buy this! Its only 20$ on the psn and well worth it. Always wanted to play the series to see why everyone loved this or keeps begging for jak 4 and now i see why. 1 is really just a 3d platformer much like banjo or Mario but with it has its own touch to it. Collecting was pretty easy and fair and i'm actually close to 100 percent(98), i am now currently playing 2 and it kicks ass. My main problem with 2 is just the hub world, it comes off to annoying to me

The issue with Jak and Daxter in my opinion is as the series progresses the games get worse whereas with the Ratchet & Clank trilogy the games get better. The first Jak and Daxter game in my opinion was the best as after it the series became too similar to Ratchet & Clank but the gun play and missions were not as good in comparison. I felt that the controls were clunky in Jak 2 and 3. I will however offer the series praise as the story improves in Jak 2 and 3 but Ratchet & Clank had better game play and more creative weapons which in my opinion is more important that the story. I felt that there was bad checkpoint balancing in Jak 2 and 3 which I found frustrating, notably a mission in Jak 2 where Jak has to guide people through the sewers near the end there is a Metal Head ambush and if Jak dies during that the whole mission has to be done again. My scores out of 10 for the two series. Ratchet & Clank: 9 Jak and Daxter: 8

when I said ray, i meant the projectile, not the weapon. jak would always have a shield and still be able to use his weapons. you cant negate a time freeze. if jak freezes, clank would be able to move to freeze time. reaction time is negated while frozen in time. ratchet wont even know what was done.

I've never played Jak and Daxter before, so when I got the HD collection I was excited to finally see what the hype was about. I completely believed in the fun and greatness of the series when I played the first one, and was disappointed and jaded with the sequels. Naughty Dog turned the fun platformer into a generic GTA wannabe with janky controls and unresponsive vehicles. Jak 2 and Jak 3 honestly felt like failed Uncharted prototypes whereas Jak and Daxter was the only game worth playing in this whole collection.

Jak and Daxter Collection is $8 on PSN right now. Only until next Tuesday. What a good price!

I always got stuck on the kill 6 or 5 hellcat(or whatever) car things mission. I got past it once and then accidentally deleted my save so I was stuck again.

Jak 3 was definitely one of the best ps2 games. I wish they make Jak 4 with the same feeling i got originally playing jak 3, the feeling that it's ahead of it's time.

In my opinion all 3 kick butt. The characters, humor, art styles, everything. Fantastic. Jak and Daxter will always hold a special place in my heart, but that's because it was one of the first games I ever played.

Any way to play this on PS4?

Playing through the first game now, (never played them before and Im a huge fan of platformers so Id figure Id give this a try). My biggest gripes are the camera- being that i cant look up or down with the R stick and instead having to push triangle to go into fist person view to look around) and lack of a world map hurts bigtime. Its decent but i dont think im going to go through the 2nd and 3rd game.

Jak & Daxter are my childhood memories. I still have the trilogy and Jak X since I was a kid

Why have I never seen jak 4 for sale?

I still remember the day I beat Jak II, and all the days of fun but insanely arduous gameplay behind it. Hardest game of my life.

I have one very minor complaint. Mass Media apparently forgot about overscan when remastering Jak 3, because part of the HUD when driving buggies is too close to the edge and so can get cut off. Developers are supposed to compensate by keeping important content out of the overscan area.

Why isn't the vita version on the ps store?

So true dude. I loved them all. I think they all contributed something unique to the gaming industry (even if it's currently suffering from lack of that very same creativity), and I was also equally excited to hear about their respective HD Collections and that they'd all be in Battle Royale. And if that's not enough to convince people of mutual support, Naughty Dog gave Insomniac the engine they used in Jak 1, and they used it to run Ratchet and Clank.

1: Ratchet & clank 2: Jak & daxter 3 Sly cooper (My opinion!)

This trilogy was spot on with the old games. It even had the occasional freezing from the original games. 10/10

I have a beautiful vision in mind, I recently got Crash Bandicoot the n sane trilogy on Switch, there's rumor Spyro reignited trilogy might come to Switch, and if that happens, I want this game to be next on the Switch and have a beautiful 3d performer collection.

Jak and daxter was my favorite game, I loved it on ps2,sadly I got an xbox 360 and missed out on the full jak and daxter series as well for ratchet and clank and sly cooper,man I wish they remaster all of these but most importantly jak and daxter for ps4 because it's a classic that should always live on.

Shield chargers up, Clank gives him immunity from time manipulation. Also being a lombax and techinically feline he has better reaction time. Also it's a ray not a gun. So it can technically work.

i have set myself a mission to retrieve all my childhood games between the ps1 and ps2. naughty dog, insomniac games and umbisoft have fare lot of games to hunt down if you start to think about it without thinking about any other games
