Hitman 3 Developers React to 6 SECOND Speedrun (And More)

3 жыл бұрынThe new Hitman games have always been great for speedruns, and Hitman 3 continues this trend by featuring levels that players can finish in mere seconds. So naturally, we asked the devs at IO Interactive if they would be interesting in watching years of their hard work finished in record breaking times.

In this video, instead of just one speedrun, we actually show the devs 5 seperate videos. While it wouldv'e been fun to only show them a six second speedrun, then we'd have our own world record for shortest Devs React to Speedruns in history. Instead, what you'll find is four different Any% speedruns all with varying times, and then a run through of the entire game as a Silent Assassin.
Hitman 3 is the latest entry in the long-running Hitman franchise. It was developed and published by IO Interactive for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Stadia, and Nintendo Switch on January 20, 2021.

@Violett Fem The "batman" vision pretty much breaks a LOT of stealth games. And having a gun that shoots through the level geometry makes things quicker.

Nah I like to imagine he's much more patient like the game is meant to be played. IMO it makes more sense for 47 to go through Grey's plan in Dubai and trapping the targets in their room rather than entering the building and shooting the targets in 6 seconds lol.

I love how all the developers still meme about Hitman being a slow runner, AI being bad, and buggy game features. it's wholesome, seems like the really care about games and not about what people think of them or their game.

tbh the game is still great despite all that. I'd even argue a part of the fun sometimes is how bad they can be at times. lol its the only game like this that gets a pass.

This is the only game where I've found myself just walk around like a damn tourist, enjoying the immensely detailed maps. Just a work of art. From the large Mumbai map to the stunning Darthmoor.

Mumbai is amazing, Miami and Whittleton Creek too, for someone who's not American. All the Island levels are awesome cus they make you feel like a spy. Columbia has that Indiana Jones vibe. And there's several different ways to experience the game.

No that's not a bug. In the speedrun Frote7 used the sewers exit, but because this one is glitched he killed the pizza guy and steal his key to exit the mission. The run is officially finished when Frote7 "exit" by the sewers. But it's not possible to do it so to finish the mission he escapes via the scooter

The sewer exit in Berlin is bugged, but it has been reported and should be fixed in the Feb 23rd patch.

Yeah it's definitely missing or skipping the 🔚 flag to trigger the level outro. It must have a broken chain of triggers to flags to triggers. The first trigger trips the exiting 🔜 flag which freezes the score/time but that flag isn't triggering the next flag that triggers the outro/player level exit. They have to use a shared flag pool if not the player would be stuck or crash since it would trip the first flags twice. Not even IGN noticed that the actual timer for the level stopped at 0:57. But it doesn't help that the video was going by so fast, and I'm assuming that the devs couldn't pause or replay different parts.

@@damsen978 I think Hitman 3 speedruns are like GoldenEye 64 speedruns. There are categories where they have to do all the missions, but there is also one category per mission (and difficulty). Meaning there are categories where the speedrunner do only one specific mission instead of all of them. It's easy to know that this video shows multiple speedruns and not just one because of the "up next" text showing up before the transitions, implying that the speedrunners are not doing all the missions at once. And if they were, they would have immediately moved on to the next mission instead of staying on the result screen.

10:00 it was the pizza guy he killed and got Silent Assassin, but once he unlocks the sewer the mission is set. It's a glitch, so it would make sense the developers don't know about it. And we have just witnessed, in this very video, their discovery of it, and so they may patch it soon. Excellent work Frote 7

Runs like that exist in Far Cry, Dishonored, etc. Saw a guy throw a baseball bat into the sky at the start of a mission in Far Cry, kill like 15-20 other people, then have the baseball bat come back down out of the sky and hit the final guy in the head to finish the mission.

To any devs reading the comments. I absolutely love this new hitman trilogy. Blood money was my fav game and the only thing i could really ask for in these new games is the weapon customization to come back. Now out of everything i seen in the game, the most brilliant addition was the attic in the argentina level. I never seen that cable and for some reason i just happened to turn the camera and seen half of it lit up from instinct. That was the sneakiest, coolest thing i seen. Also love the nods to the games like codes being the year a game came out or 47 lbs being 47s weight if you stand on a scale.

The headshot of the non-target in berlin was actually just to boost his time. He needed the keys to the pizza bike and that was the fastest way for them to be dropped :)

yes it is cool they dont rail against the runners and vow to patch stuff up or MAKE THEM PLAY the game (properly). The doom eternal dudes sounded kinda goofy like they wanted to slow down and stop the glitch finders, like any % and OOB speedrunning isn't it's own completely separate thing almost independent of a normal play. Not all of them were bad, but one of them was a straight up tool who acted butthurt. This group seems cool and they seem to not vow to "fix everything," to make running impossible or lamer. They are even impressed by things, implementations of glitches and techniques they knew about existing, just not how useful they could be. Solid crew.

9:30 he triggers Manhole exit (which has never worked since launch and is bugged) allowing you to "exit" the level while staying in the level after. Once he triggered the manhole it doesn't track anything he does after against SA and it stops the timer at the point of clicking the manhole. I made a contract in Berlin where manhole was required exit and you cannot finish it currently since at the creation stage it lets you "leave" at manhole but stay in the level to use any other exit that actually works. Then once it saves the contract, it locks out everything but the "required exit" and your stuck.

It’s cuz they appreciate the fact that these speed runners have put more time into this game than any average player. Most devs see these speed runs and get upset because they spent so much time making the game, when in reality these speed runners didn’t just wake up and figure out how to beat a level in 20 seconds right off the bat
