Just Music. The great baritone Igor Gorin makes an amazing interpretation in english of Denza´s song "Si vous l'aviez compris" "Had you but known". Just enjoy it.

Wonderful voice and artistry! So very musical and such a rich vibrant timbre! Beautiful English diction for a singer performing in a second language.

Caught Gorin the other night on "Broadway Melody of 1938" (!) -- must have been under contract to MGM. The film has a clever open with him singing the Largo in a barber shop.

Nelson Eddy was an admirer of Igor Gorin and raved about his beautiful baritone voice. I think(maybe wrong) that Gorin was also under contract to MGM at one time. Thank You for posting this beautiful video.I would like to hear more of Gorin. Lorraine

Wonder how many recall when Gorin sang on a Sunday afternoon NBC opera theatre telecast of Rigoletto in the late 1950's. Gorin appeared with a delightful young soprano, Dorothy Coulter, and a tenor named Oreste. As I write this, I'm trying to recall whether or not it was sung in English. I'm thinking I might have a reel-to-reel tape of the performance in the attic and, if so, it probably there is little left of the sound. Too late we learn...................

I remember to listened that recording in my dad's house, the other side of the 78's record was Largo al factotum. Now i got only the John Charles Thomas singing Mattei's NON é VER, another great performance.

Кто знает на западе Павла Лисициана? А если бы он был тогда выездной, то был бы не менее известен и знаменит, чем самые великие баритоны того времени.
