I think you’ll find London is a lot busier than anywhere else in England. On top of most other places the cars will be used on long country roads and in London the cars are spanked down small roads in second gear.

Once the panic button is pressed the officer has, I think, six seconds of prioritised airtime where their message cuts over that of anyone else speaking over the airwaves at the time. Just enough time to yell “officer in trouble” and give heir location. Then every police officer who hears the message drops everything and goes to help their colleague. I also believe a gps signal lights up their location on the screens at the control centre in case the officer in trouble is unaware of their exact location, or if the radio message is inaudible. Some forces call it “the chicken button”.

Imagine being in the taxi parked in the middle to the road waiting for a pickup and suddenly a boatload of Armoire vans filled to the brim pull up next to you and a shit ton of officers come out like "Aight bois let's do dis"

Although based off of this video it looks like the police have lots of funding, in reality they dont. The main issue with funding is the cars the police have, as although they're sort of whick, they're not really quick enough for criminals on mopeds weaving in and out of traffic. Another main issue with the police funding is training officers. To get into the armed police it takes around 10 weeks of trainings in a specialized facility. The police have to pay for the facility useage for all ten weeks, they have to pay for the instructors, ammunition, and hundreds, if not thousands of pounds per officer, and I sont know the exact timings but every so often, I think once a month, they have to do more training to make sure they're up to scratch. So in total lots of the police budget goes to training officers aswell as to counter terrorism branches given the increase in terror attacks. So after all this, they have to use whatever they have left to fund the response officers, investigations unit, tsg, vehicles and the upkeep of them, and the training of police officers. (Also I'm not trying to start a comment war by countering your point so please dont shout at me 😃)

But as far as I'm aware the way the red button works is that if there are officers who arent at a call, or the red button call is more urgent like if someone was getting stabbed, then all officers have to attend it. So I'm guessing that in your area not many calls were coming in but I might be wrong.
