In an interview with Jean Gildas, an alumnus of the MSc Water Management and Governance program at IHE Delft, he shared how his interactions with international students enriched his learning experience and contributed to his personal growth. Engaging with peers from diverse backgrounds allowed him to gain insights into various cultures.
The experiences he had with the international students from all over the world helped him to learn more about different cultures and to grow as a person. One of the character building lessons he learned during studying is to never give up and overcome the challenges that come with the study.
Jean gained hands-on experience during a field trip to France, where he learned to apply his theoretical knowledge to practical situations through research. One of his takeaways was that water management issues are similar everywhere, but each place has its own unique context.
