If you want a medal, you need not only a bit of luck, but also a superb goalie and Šenková showed an excellent performance today, unbelievable. Plosová and Šapovalivová played very well and their performance and leadership were another aspects for Czech victory. Canadians were (as usually) great at skating, had more individually skilled players, but today it was a little "miracle of ice" in woman junior ice hockey. Well deserved win. Edit: second Canada goal was after clear icing, even TSN commentators were surprised it wasn´t an icing call.

In the preliminary round, Canada beat Czechia 8-1. It may have been over confidence, but Czechia was ready. Good game and great goaltending by Czechia. As a Canadian, I now want Czechia to win the gold.

This is like a dream Just a year ago our boys made in U20 championship to the final where they've got a silver medal and just a year later they won a bronze medal match against Finland and now our U18 girls made it up to the final... like I'm impressed and almost speechless nonetheless hats down to our girls they made it up this far

@@oscart3581 Kiitos paljon, kaveri (I hope I wrote that right via Google Translate) It's been ages but there's a light on the end of the tunnel we've been some time but... there's still a lot of things to improve talking about youngsters and it wouldn't be possible without czech-finnish school of ice hockey where the younger ones (for example 8 year olds) are getting in touch with each other not only game standards but also by social standards and that should the main premise of this. As some of your players at very young age say the coaches are letting them to enjoy hockey as much as they can so they can develop their skills which was and still is the main problem in our ice hockey system. They even try to force them to play seriously at very young age and don't let them relax a bit like I know it shouldn't be a path through pink orchard but just let them to ať least have some fun a bit so they won't decide about their future in these kinds of sports early on. Sorry for such long essay but I had to address what was and still is wrong with our playing style of ice hockey and thank you once again you have my appreciation.

What you get when you underestimate the other team.Bad attitude leading to mistakes,bad passing,bad plays and then panic and losing.I am sure the 8 to 1 win was a big factor but every game is different and thanks to doing their homework,sacrifice and a good goalie,Czechia took the deserved win.

Team Canada 🇨🇦 you have remarkable talent all of you from goalies to defenses to forwards we can’t win all the time that cup has to be passed around to other countries too we are still best in how you all played in this tournament look at all the wins you’ve done playing all the teams . Sometimes way thing happens you try your best still don’t go your way it like playing with the hockey god and they say not this time because team Canada has won two cups in two years so it some other team to win

Losing to Czechia was the result of pure hubris. Never underestimate your opponent. You are never as good as you think you are and the minute you don't give 100 % from the drop of the puck through to the end of the game is when you learn that hard work can beat talent.

@michalwaldhans2574 but it wasn't, though. Check the game statistics from iihf; the only tripping penalty for czechia in the 3rd came 6 minutes after they scored their 3-2 goal. This trip was less than 30 seconds after that goal.

Alexander Mackenzie when you were in front of them that we learn and that is should’ve waited for the goalie to come right down on the ice and then move a little bit back and then flip it over her you would’ve scored I hope you know that if you don’t know I’m just saying should I wait sometimes splits seconds makes all the difference really and I hope you learn from that love you McKenzie made us all proud at home in Etobicoke and me and Greektown where I live I live in Greektown love you next time you’re not position wait let the goalie fall right down on the ice and you would’ve had a better chance of flipping out over and you would’ve scored anyways love you always

Seems this year the Canada teams suffer the same virus. Weak conditioning mentally and physically. Weak cohesion. Weak discipline. Weak awareness. Weak preparation against opponents. Zero strategy when against adversity. Slow reactions and anticipations. Lack of creativity. Weak physicality. Stupid moves. etc. The coaches are the problem.
