Still makes me smile seeing GB play at this level again. Sure the team is losing and taking some beatings but to be in the top tier is an achievement itself

Love to see an anglo matchup on ice! Really wish hockey to grow in the UK so we can have more of these! Hockey was invented by the brits so it would be amazing having them in the top tournaments to come. Go britons! /swede

GB held USA scoreless in the first period, and USA could have been behind if GB had been able to convert any of the 4 powerplays we had. Good game I think. and both netminders played well.

@@Monsuuri I am half-Finnish, so started playing with ice hockey toys as a child with my family, and then started watching Ice Hockey in the GB. BBC TV (our public service broadcaster) then did some good coverage of Ice Hockey at Winter Olympics, and so my interest grew further. And then started following GB national team through their journey in Division 1A in 2018, and then in IIHF top division in 2019 to now. 🙂

Felt like a containment process in the 2nd & 3rd period by GB; a real shame as the first period was very even. Latterly, USA barely got of 2nd gear & frequently pulled the goaltender because they were constantly on the offence.

If for example, the Czech Republic and Slovenia in a match, do you then have to have an ice hockey referee who is from Slovenia, for example?

Gb when you have 5 power plays in the first period and still loose the shots 8-13 then your going to struggle from what I have seen so far I don't see gb winning vs Latvia or Austria both are better teams and have been better teams in this tournament so far. I'm afraid it's the end of the line.

1. No country is able to bring all their best talent. 2. We have seen lot nhl star stacked teams lose to worse teams on paper. Having the best players is nice but they still need to be able to work as a team. 3. Pretty sure Canada would still roll usa.

@@supercrazy03 I agree. Canada is clearly best (with NHL-players). USA, Russia, Finland, and Sweden are quite even.

Do you see the US with guys like Kane or Eichel? Dozens of eligible healthy players, but WC does not mean anything when the NHL is in North America. People only care about WJ or The Olympics when it allows NHL players.
