If you're not getting the level boost you think you should from your overdrive pedal, it could be because you have your input gain too high going into the tonex.

I've watched your first day videos and would like to add my opinion of what I've seen so far. I'm fine with basically hearing what the effects sound like, but I would like to know a little more about the guitars. In Pete's hands everything sounds great and looks easy to play. I realize that these are products you sale and want to show everything at their best, but it would be nice if you could give your opinions of the pros and cons of the guitars.
