With the CMX, IKA has developed a system that incorporates solids into liquids in a recirculation process. In batch processing mode the inline mixer from IKA draws powders into liquids and disperses them without dust or clumping. In the basic configuration, the system comprises a CMX inline mixer, a vessel for the liquid phase, a dosing feeder for the solids above the machine and piping for circulating the product. The CMX works in two stages: The additional pump stage lends it an extremely stable characteristic. The upper, second stage mixes the solid and liquid phases without clumping. The CMX from IKA processes products in a very broad spectrum of viscosities without the need for ancillary aggregates such as circulation pumps. Thanks to its modular concept, the plant can be flexibly adapted to every customer’s individual needs. The solid material can be fed in from a big bag emptying station, a hopper, bag dump stations or directly from sacks with the aid of a suction lance. The CMX from IKA is available in seven machine sizes with capacities from 1 to 40,000 litres. It is therefore equally ideal for laboratory applications and industrial scale applications.
