Makes me proud of American artistic culture. Tina was the product of blues, R&B and Rock traditions, predominately African American, of the Southern U.S. Her sound is known throughout the world but it's easy to forget it originated in a very specific time and place. As a white American whose eyes are wide open to the political challenges our country faces, and to the messages of division the Republican party is sending to the world, at least I can be proud of our culture -- primarily our musical culture -- still influencing the world. American music and its derivatives are a world treasure.

You had a nice post until you falsely claim that Republicans are divisive...with your eyes wide open, would you still say the same today? It's the Democrats that rip apart the fabric of this country.

@@uniniversalstar1974you can hear text? I'd get that looked at if I were you; that's not normal! Furthermore, Ike Turner was a nasty little thug.

so best that she asked to join his group, after the death of the child’s father, she immediately rushed into bed with him, and when she became a star she simply dumped him... typical female love. Sorry for the English, Google translate...

@@user-rx5pg2oz7mthis is not even remotely true. Tina became a star in the 60s. Ike Turner played no part in 'River Deep, Mountain High' - zero! Tina only left Ike after the last of several physical assaults, partially caused by his heavy addiction to Cocaine, in 1976. When she fled him, she had just 36 cents! Tina succeeded despite Ike, not because of him.

Amazing performance. We are blessed, all of humanity, that there are born among us persons with such talent... and who work so damned hard to perfect it, and give it to us.
