I would catch them sometimes on the East side in the Blue Note and Manhattan Club. They and others would just drop in and do a set, very cool and you could just go up and rap with with them and have a drink. No Hollywood BS just folks shaking it down on a Saturday night, I miss that atmosphere of fun, most of the time I was the only white boy there and when I took a date it just flipped them out. Cute little white girls afraid of the East side, it was a pleasure to change there mind.

This is definitely a cover of the Joe Cocker version of the song.

I had a cd that was titled called "Ike & Tina Turner: Live @ Circus Krone" and this was on that cd. However I don't think it was a real live concert because "Proud Mary" was from Carnegie Hall. It did feature some songs previous unreleased tho.

Cant really believe that people would prefer this over the original. Only the Beatles can do it right. Ike and Tina had some good covers, but this not one of them.
