YG artist are really different from other Kpop artists. They have different style and sounds that make them unique. If you notice, recent Blackpink songs have a really strong instrumental background or like beat drop. They never do cute concepts because YG artists are different. They are very diverse too. You can easily differentiate YG artists from other idols.

One thing I've always loved about kpop besides the music and production of everything is that at the end of the day, these idols, these PEOPLE are just that. People. We can listen to them and feel connected to who they are. I started liking kpop back in 2012 when it was considered weird asf lmao but it fills my heart seeing people react to and enjoy something that has always been comfort to me. I would come home after school and just watch kpop to make myself feel better. I'd watch shows with these idols in them to feel closer to them. They made me feel like I had friends and a family because at the time, I didn't have friends, I also was going through some heavy stuff with my family. It's weird saying this now, thinking about how far I've come. All of these artists helped me grow into the person I am today and I respect and cherish all their hardwork even if I can't keep with all of them nowadays.

What I think: Blackpink: About being an independent badass woman who can stand up for herself against men. Spreading woman empowerment. Saying your life shouldn’t revolve around this one guy. Being confident in yourself. Ikon:the more depressing songs. It’s like who hurt them? Because they got to be real hurt to write those lyrics. They express emotions and pain through the song, and it’s beautiful. It’s very relatable lyrics for someone who is going through a tough relationship. Maybe showing that boys also get hurt too. Pain Treasure: since they’re younger, it’s more younger theme. Just based off the one song, they’re about pursuing love. Not backing away and going for it. I could be wrong since it’s just one song and there’s no common theme developed yet. Big Bang: they’re the eldest. They have more mature concepts and more mature perspective of things. There lyrics and songs are harder to interpret because they’re quite deep. They have lots of different styles of music, showing how versatile they are.

BEST COMPOSER IN KPOP GOES TO KIM HANBIN! ❤️

Late to this one but want to add something that is often overlooked due to the language barrier. The Korean word for "killing me" used here has a lighthearted connotation to it. It's more like the "killing me" in the phrase "you're killing me, Smalls." So it's actually interesting choice of word/connotation to use with what are such depressing lyrics. You'll note also that the track itself is a bop. The lyrics and the track really don't go well together, and its by design. B.I. (the writer) does this often in his songs. He took this playfulness concept from his senior/mentor G Dragon. You'll notice towards the end of the song the lyrics "Is it the broken heart that's longing for her / or my selfish loneliness?" It's introspectively asking if he misses "her" or if he misses "it (being in a relationship)." The whole things winds up somehow lighthearted after a set of lyrics that make you feel the way you did during your reaction. It's really well done. Another example is in I'm OK where the lyrics and the track itself are never on the same page. One is major, the other minor.

heyyyy your ikon our story reaction passed by my recommendations, your blackpink and treasure reactions made me subscribe to your channel but I haven't been watching your reactions tbh. Saw your iKON reactions card flashing so I decided to watch them in order. See u shedding a tear their buddy, hope u okay. When I stan a group I stan them not only bc of talent but more so because of their personalities and the personal impact their music brings to me, which makes me highly attached to groups that I stan. and if there's one group I would fondly call home thats iKON. guys have been through hell its along story to tell but the way they tell their stories and who they are as a person through their songs is what makes their music really special. You know when a song is written and composed with pure intentions. like I said its a long story to tell but heads up, if this one song makes you tear up u gotta prepare a whole lot of tissues and water to rehydrate yourself when you listen to their entire discography because majority are them are tear jerkers, iKON songs has a way of piercing through someone's hearts some songs disguised as upbeat ones but are actually really sad. I'd love to witness your journey of getting to know them, they're honestly one of the best guys worth supporting in the industry. Most times they don't even come off as idols, they're more like normal people friends with fans. Hope you give them love and support. Their sound is a bit different from the usual YG, it is more chill but still truly amazing. Some of my favorites are Really Really, Sentimental, and Love me Love. The members are also really talented as they compose their own songs.
