I presonally can recommend you to buy a joystick. It doesn't need to have a lot of buttons as the most important buttons will be the firing triggers/buttons, but it's more to be able to fly precisly and without too much "struggling". Make sure you have a throttle with the Joystick, and also some kinds of rudder either on the joystick or rudder pedals. Rudder isn't too "important" for jets but in this case with the torque, prop wash, etc. having some kind of rudder control is definitly a must if you want to take off and land without crashing. What I also can recommend is TrackIR or something similar. This way you can follow the target more easily and you also loose some binded buttons on the joystick (depending which one you have) to map them to other functions. As for Hardware, here's the recommendation from the developers: OS: 64-bit Windows® 7 (SP1) / Windows® 8 / Windows® 10 CPU: Intel® Core™ i5/i7 2.8 ГГц GPU: GeForce GTX 660/Radeon HD 7770 with 2GB VRAM or better DirectX: Version 11 RAM: 4 Gb+ Sound Card: DirectX®-compatible Storage space: 10 Gb+ Internet connection: 256Kb/s for single-player campaign, 1Mb/s and faster for multi-player DirectX® compatible flight stick is recommended As you can see, it's not a too high recommendation but still not too low. And you can also see, they recommend you a Joystick :D About the price: I think it's definitly worth the 6 or 8 planes that you will get for that amount of money, especially if you are interested in warbirds.

Well, If you don't want to put crazy amount of money into hardware, you should just buy some joystick and pedals. +For more intensive gameplay you can buy things such as speed / flaps lever, etc.

Jack Fuller sure, who doesn't I was just testing them how the planes behave and how to shoot them and it was for fun. In a more serious enviroment I wouldn't take them with me.

Razor Yeah, seems to be the consensus amongst sim pilots that you're better off without the gun pods. Btw, how does the mkV spit in IL2 compare with the mkIX in DCS?

I like the one in IL2 a bit more because you don't depart as early as in dcs with the same amount of pulling the stick (not at low speeds) but other than that, they feel quite similar, just that you don't have to care too much about cooling the engine with the mkV. Engine management though is a bit different obviously.

Make sure that your monitor can display 4K and that you have enough Internet bandwith for youtube to actually stream it on 4K. If you still don't see a difference, try changing the game resolution settings from 4K to HD and you'll definitly see the difference

@@Razor_Sim My PC would run this game in 10 fps in 4k, but on youtube i dont see much difference.
